Feedback/Review of the Wheeler T12 Rear Coils?

I've had the Wheeler springs on since this spring and really like them and haven't had any issues.

I had a OEM FJ springs all around with 5100s. The rear FJ springs were sagging.

I think T12s provide a better ride than the FJ springs, a little less harsh or the spring rate matches the 5100 better. When your carrying a little weight I think the ride improves a little more.

I had already installed the 2nd gen 4runner sway bar links before the wheeler springs. If you don't extend the rear sway bar links you are going to add pre-load to the system.

My next buy will be the T1's to match in the front.

That was my experience as well, I started with FJ coils and then moved to the T12s because I wanted more lift - once I had them on I realized how bad of a ride the FJ coils were. To me it was a huge improvement.

I can't wait to install my 6112s and get a feel for the whole setup.

The rig looks great.

I was thinking of adding the 10mm spacers to the rear when I switch the front out.

I was looking for a little forward rake. Or do you think that T12's alone give you some rake?

They work great.. 5100s set to 0.. T1/T12 combo.. replaced 95k mile xreas.. I did get a 1/4 top poly spacer for driver side slant.. and I reclamped my cv boots bc they started to sweat.

I do think for Christmas I will buy the extended links and poly sway bar bushings. Just don't have time to put it on right now.

EDIT after 30 miles hwy drive

I can't honestly feel a difference.

That doesn't surprise me. The suspension really needs to be working more, like it would on rough and bumpy roads, but if your stock links weren't preloaded before, then you probably didn't need the extended ones.

I was concerned about LCA clearance too, so I stuck a chunk of playdoh on the arm and flex the suspension the most I could. If they collided, the playdoh would be mashed, but it wasn't. That area of the arm doesn't move a great distance.

What size tires do you have? And how well did it align with the lift? Does this combo need new UCAs to get the alignment within spec?

Does anybody have experience to share with the T12s and other shocks than the 5100s?

I have them paired with Fox 2.0 shocks and am very pleased with the ride. Moving to the second-gen swaybar end-links this weekend and excited to see if it gets even better.

265/70/17 C rated. Just Under +3 degrees caster. Toe and camber in spec. Uca would get me 4+ caster. But it rides great now. No need.

You will have a slight forward rake. Which is what I wanted. Def didn't want negative rake. If you put anything in the back at all and it's level. You would have the front end high.

I actually have a custom storage box back there and still got some rake.

Any pics? I've read the t12 are higher then the 1.5 its suppose to lift.
Here's a couple of quick and dirty ones to give you an idea:

By using 2nd gen rear end links. They are identical except 1" longer.
I swapped my end links this morning for the second-gen links, and the ride is much better.

Mine are in. After some 30 miles of very varied driving, I think they ride better than the FJC rears, but also need more shock - too floaty on the highway. My Tacoma TRD O/R shocks apparently aren't up to the task (also I feel they are too short).

I wonder if ICON 2.0 would be a good match? (I'm not getting 5100s).

This is hilarious. Apparently I forgot all about what I read last year and now one year later I got 5100s in the rear and find out they are really not what I want and will likely replace them with ICON 2.0s soon.

Don't like the way they ride? I need to get rear shocks and have no idea what to go with.

They ride OK on smooth roads and I do like the better handling but they are too harsh on bad roads. And there's plenty of that in NJ, esp. in the areas where I drive most often. Like today I drove over some section of I-95 which these shocks simply could not handle.

Will I need rear bumpstop drop with the ICONs since they are longer travel than stock? I don't want to blow them up if by accident I drive too fast over a big dip and bottom them out.

Interested in your same set up!

Do u still have the 1.5 spacers and where the front? If u can give me any advice too I’d appreciate it!!

the 1.5 are wheel spacers.. not suspension spacers. the front shocks are set at 0.. just springs.. went in easy enough.. rides great..

I'm happy with it.. always ends up being more than you thought.. but i was like 900 in suspension parts.. then tires, then alignment, mount, balance.. it adds up..

I’m really debating on getting the 6112 over the 5100. I think I’m the long run the 6112s are worth it. Just want your personal feedback on how much u like your set up. I’d probably go with the icons like you did in the back too. Thanks!!

Thanks

Do I need the 1/4 spacers on both the front and back on drivers side

There’s a couple answers to this when I checked. I put one top mount poly spacer on the front driver side. It was pretty close. Some say the back left spring.

So idk. My driver side rear is slightly lower depending on how full the tank is. And I do have a built box in the rear. To take into account.
