A local fellow is making these, I'm trying to help him find a wider audience. This is just a feeler at this point, but if a pair of these at a price near $100 + shipping is interesting to you please post up.
These are waffleboard traction/bridging ladders. My pair is four feet long, 10 inches wide, 1.5 inches thick, and weighs around fifteen pounds each (thirty for the pair). One side is smooth, the other has added traction grit. The load tables provided by the manufacturer indicate that one ladder will support 1770 pounds over a three foot span, or 1000 pounds over a four foot span.
Possible uses for these are traction in mud or snow, bridging ladders over gaps or washed out sections of road, a solid base for your hilift or other jack, standing platforms in a muddy/snowy camp. They're easy to mount, simply bolt them to a rack or tire carrier, lay them flat in your cargo area or rack, or even use them as the floor of your rack, or shelves in your cargo management setup.
