Feels...not right...

Hey all,
Ive been noticing that when i drive my truck a decent distance, it seems to...shake. Thats the best word i can use to describe it. First time it happened, i thought it was a flat tire in the rear; i stopped to check and it was fine. Resumed the journey and it still shook. It kinda hard to describe, but i can feel it though the steering wheel, and throughout the truck itself, meaning that passengers can feel it too. This doesnt happen around town, or on short freeway travel, but anything over an hour or too it happens. Also seems to be more common after ive been on a bad road. I have no idea what it could be, and would love any help/ideas.
Backround on truck:
1999 4cyl
188k miles
original suspension(as far as i can tell)
regular maintenance
wheels just balanced (problem occured both before and after; thought it might be the issue in the first place, thats why i got them balanced in the first place)

Although i have no idea what the problem is, i have a gut feeling that its something to do with suspension...there's no evidence to support that, just a gut feeling, dont know if that could be a factor???

Mine gets a little shaky, but it could be the driveshaft or ujoints. Also could be worn out suspension components.... Hard to say from description.

Your thought about suspension is a good place to start - steering, too....suggest you perform dry park test - some resources to help:

This Moog video shows a dry park test but you really need two people - one in the car to slightly turn the steering wheel back and forth and the other under the car checking for movement/noise in components:

make sure all the zerks on all your driveshafts are greased. also tug on all your ball joints and tie rod ends to make sure they are not worn out.
