I would like to sell them to you but i say fight that ticket that's BS
get the ordinance number that you broke and read it very carefully. if they cant give the EXACT ordinance that has the statement "your tires can not stick out this far from the body" then fight that till they pay you for infringing on your personal freedom, taking up your time, and ask that the police officer apologize in person for breaking the law and writing a fake ticket.
That said if there is a local ordinance for tire width then just pay it.
I can see how its a road hazard trowing rocks and such but you can just get mudflaps to pass by that law.

I would definitely try to find the actual law you were in violation of and check the actual specifications for what is "too far out of the wheel well". You can probably fight it and get it thrown out.

this bothered me because im very active in preserving the rights of US citizens so i did the work for you.
here is idaho state law
49-949.Requirement as to fender or covers over all wheels on motor vehicles. (1) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or move or any owner to permit to be operated or moved, any motor vehicle, truck, bus, semitrailer or trailer, upon any highway without having the vehicle equipped with fenders or covers which may include flaps or splash aprons, over and to the rear of wheels, as follows:
(a) On the rear wheels of every truck equipped with a body, bus, trailer or semitrailer the fenders or covers shall extend in full width from a point above and forward of the center of the tires over and to the rear of the wheels to a point that is not more than ten (10) inches above the surface of the highway when the vehicle is empty;
(b) Behind the rear wheels of every truck not equipped with a body the fenders or covers shall extend downward in full width from a point not lower than halfway between the center of the wheels and the top of the tires on the wheels to a point that is not more than ten (10) inches above the surface of the highway when the vehicle is empty;
(c) Behind all wheels of every motor vehicle other than trucks, buses, semitrailers, or trailers, the fenders or covers shall extend in full width from a point above and forward of the center of the tire over and to the rear of the wheel to a point that is not more than twenty (20) inches above the surface of the highway, unless the bumper is a factory built bumper fastened directly to the frame of the vehicle pursuant to factory installation requirements;
(d) Fenders or covers are not required on any modified American-made pre-1935 vehicle, or any identifiable vintage or replica thereof that is titled as a later assembled vehicle or replica and is used for show and pleasure use when such vehicle is used and driven only during fair weather on well-maintained hard-surfaced roads.
(2) Fenders or covers, as used in subsection (1) of this section, shall be deemed to be of sufficient size and construction as to comply with those requirements if constructed as follows:
(a) When measured on the cross sections of the tread of the wheel or on the combined cross sections of the treads of multiple wheels, the fender or cover extends at least to each side of the width of the tire or of the combined width of the multiple tires, as the case may be;
(b) The fender or cover is constructed as to be capable at all times of arresting and deflecting dirt, mud, water, or other substance as may be picked up and carried by wheels;
(c) For school buses if the body extension behind the rear wheels exceeds five (5) feet.

I like guns too. Fight that rainbow ticket, go.to.court with atleast 6 measurements of trucks violating that "law" worse than you, doesn't sound like itll be hard. I hate the law.

NO according to IDAHO state highway doctrine he is illegal. Laws are good but they need to be correct and not violate any constitutional rights.
if you stay off the interstate you wont be effected unless the county law has this ordinance also which is not typical.

Yup, looks like he was technically breaking the law. Jerk of a cop for ticketing him though. Thurlo, if you want a cheap fix, get some lawn edging and sheet metal screws. You won't win the show and shine, but it's inexpensive and easy, and easily removed.

the KID is right that would be cheap and easy but screwing holes onto your inner fender will open up metal to rust drill pilot holes and paint them so no bare metal is shown then put a plastic screw jack in the hole so the screw never hits bare metal and you can take them off and on whenever you like.
That is one thing I love about fla, LENIANT LAW. as far as technicalities go, idk.if we have none or if the pigs just don't care. As long as you don't run anyone over ( which happens too.freq, fag ass lifeguards..) you won't get hassled in FL. whatever the TECHNICALITIES are (tint too dark, bumpers too high gay gay gay) you won't have a problem. Let alone the nicest winter ( that didnt happen)

Yeah that is the only thing that is nice about south dakota is that they dont give a flying **** about your vehicle, no inspections, 4wheelers and dirt bikes with license plates. Good luck hopefully you can get somewhere with this, I didn't realize that some states where so anal about stuff like that...

Stuff like this is why flares was one of the first things I did to my truck with 35x12.5's--I still don't know if SD would care, but I know OH (where I used to live) would be all too happy to ticket for uncovered tires. Of course, if anyone has ever heard of Ohio's rep when it comes to the hwy patrol in particular (they even joked about it in the movie Cannonball Run), you know they're VERY serious when it comes to law enforcement (and the revenue it generates!).

my uncle and i made this. this lets me haul trailers and such with the carrier still in. dont ask about the purple part.... haha holds up to a 36inch tire. and can be locked in the down position if you have to haul somthing with the tail gate down.

this summer i plan on tilting it to an angle so it is parrellel with the rear window when i have the top on. that will also bring it closer to the body so it doesnt look so far out there. its really strong. i use it as a step into the back of my truck.
anyways.... back to the fender flares. i can get a new full set of bushwacker cut outs for $349 with all the mounting stuff. is that a good deal? should i do it?

In Oregon, that is a fix it ticket. I used to get them all the time. I just borrowed some 33's on stock rims and took it to the courthouse. They inspected and said its in compliance. Ticket's got thrown out and all it cost me was a little gas and some time changing wheels and tires.
Just a thought if you dont want to put huge cut-outs to cover what little tire you have to.
