Fightman's Build Thread

HA HA HA! NICE!

Anyway, the Seller emailed me back, is willing to send me a full refund, IF I mail him back his 12 injectors.

Not an unreasonable request, however, I can't afford to pay up front for another injector. Therefore, I'm simply going to take the loss, and use 1 of his injectors, and re-installing my 5 old injectors in the truck.

I'm planning on tackling this in the morning, so wish me luck!

Man i'm really pulling for you on this last attempt..It's been long weeks of aggravation for you, I know how much you want to take "Mean Green" out for some fresh air for once.

Injector Swap: Part 5

THanks guys.......I can see it now... "Fightman Foundation: Our mission is to get Fightman's rig on the road again!"

You guys are awesome! But shouldn't be needed....

I got out there this morning around 10am, tore everything down again, replaced 4 of his injectors with my remaining 4 (1 other one was used the other night, as Cylinder six injector was faulty). Buttoned everything up, let it run for about 15 minutes, inspected everything for leaks, and then shut it off.

I let it sit for an hour, went back outside, and it started right up! I'm going to take it out for the next few days, and see if it really is fixed....but looks good to go this time!

Here's some pics from today....

I'll keep you all posted as to what happens over the next few days! Cross your fingers for me???!!

Man. That's not a bad idea. I'd throw $10 to the cause. Anyone else down? It wouldn't take that many of us...

Aww you guys are so nice! Well seein how he doesnt need it now, you can throw it in the VA4runnerchic Foundation!! I NEED a new tire badly!! Hahahaha:D

+1 with the Fightman Foundation. My GF saw his daughter looking at the Xmas tree and got all cooing at the pic. If I could have found that injector, I would have sent it to ya for free.

HA HA! Thanks Ceasar...that pic of my daughter with the tree, is one of my favorites as well!

As for the Fightman Foundation.... and the free injector, thanks for the offer :)

Stay tuned for my next adventure! Planning on some other little projects over the next few months...... ;)

Sorry, bros before...

:bluejump:

Hope you got it sorted. Fingers crossed. Look forward you whatever you've got on the horizon.

I am glad to hear it Fightman. I hope the Mrs. gives it two thumbs up as well.

Problems that become sagas are a real PITA.

I do hope, now though, that you know you will be the go to fuel injector member of inquiry from here on out.

Thanks man.... I think we're both pretty happy about it! One less thing for me to be cranky about...makes the Wife happy! lol!

As for being the go to guy.... I'm by no means an expert....but am always happy to offer suggestions or advice based on my experiences. :)

Mods! :)

Well, since the weather was awesome today, and I didn't have to take my engine apart to fix crappy injectors..... :D

I decided to do some mods that I've been waiting to do!

First order of business, copy cat Rickashay's kick A$$ underhood lights! I went to the local Tractor and Supply store, and bought a couple of LED Dome lights to replace that tiny light socket I had!

Here's a pic of my old light:

Ripped out the wiring, and running new stuff through the hood braces:

New lights installed:

I retained the contact switch I had before, and decided to forgo using the override switch, as these LED's only use about .25amps!

I could use them for hours, and have no issues with them killing the battery!

Here's some pics of them in action (no flash used for either pic):

They almost light up enough to be auxiliary driving lights! :D

While doing the light install, I also removed my rear spoiler, and gave it a coat of Black High Heat Tremclad paint.

Then on to some more fun stuff!! My buddy, Lee got a sweet deal on 20 HID Kits, and sold me a set for $40.00!

They aren't as fancy as the DDM Tuning kits, and don't have the High Beam / Low Beam option, but seem to be pretty bright! I'm going to test them over then next few days, and see how bright they really are. Hopefully they'll be good, and I won't be blinding on-coming drivers. If they don't do as well as I hoped, he offered to let me return them to him.

After that was done, we fooled around with idea of adding some Auxiliary Reverse lights. I started out just sitting them on top of one of the cross beams on my tire carrier, but think the 33" tire will block too much of the lens.

So we decided to mount it beneath the same area, and it seems to look pretty good there. I'm not quite done wiring them all up, I still have to run the power line and in-line fuse to the battery, but should have that buttoned up by tomorrow afternoon!

Pics to follow......
