Fightman's Build Thread

Alright folks... as requested... interior pics of the 2018 Civic Hatch LX we bought... :)

Woke up to some bullshit snow this morning...

Since it's snowing out... and working outside is a little too wet for my liking... I decided to clean the floor in the new garage and seal the concrete.

Once I'm done... I'll be getting the trucks and car ready for their annual rust prevention coating... ;)

So jealous of that garage space. Looks great. Better get that bicycle indoors, snow rusts chains. My good friend, who grew up in Buffalo NY, said his best snow vehicles were front wheel drive cars.

Love the Civic...

That snow is already gone... bikes stay out til the snow is here for good... lol! We often get snow here in the fall.. but it melts away. Most likely will stay come end of this month tough.... (the joys of living in the North).

As for the Civic... definitely a big fan... would like to mod it... but the wife isn't convinced that it would be good use of our money. lol!

Winter tires and wheels will be next... maybe a remote starter system. ;)

Well... it's winter prep time... and I undercoated the 2 Toyotas and the wife's Honda today...

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadian folks!

So, this winter has been filled with lots of Overtime at work, and working out my old broken body. That being said... my 3rd Gen has been staying warm in the garage all winter, and is aching to be driven on the road soon!

Snow is melting here... but not fast enough for my liking.... lol! Took a pic of my 2 Toyota's though, on a random Sunday / mod day. *no mods for the 4Runner though... :(

Looking forward to giving the old girl a good cleaning... and redo my "Satoshi grill".

that's a funny looking corolla you've got there! :p

Still about a foot of snow at my house. Bet you've got double that!

Definitely not a Corolla... lol! We wanted a Hatchback Manual Japanese car... heard good things about this Civic... so bought it used with 20,000kms on the Odo. It's been good to us... and really fun to drive!

We have about 2 feet of snow left... but currently snowing again... so might not see summer this year. lmao! :dammit:

Just teasing on the honda vs toyota! That car should be great for years to come! What town did you travel to to get it?

Ha ha! We drove down to our hometown, and bought it in Sudbury from a Chrysler Dealer. lol

The guy who had it, bought it from Honda, but traded it for a Dodge Ram. Turns out the 2 dealers, as well as a few others on the same street, are all owned by the same owner. Palladino. lol

I have to ask Fightman where is the heavy bag? Julie still enjoying the Civic?

The heavy bag has it's own place... I have a workout room in my basement of the house. Complete with 700lbs of iron plates, which have mostly been built up into dumbells ranging from 10lbs to 70lbs each.

I also have a double - end ball, speed bag, a squat rack / bench press, and pull up bar.

Don't worry brother... Fightman hasn't stopped fighting... ;)

Julie loves the Civic... and I have to say, it's really fun to drive. Never drove a Manual before in my life... so this has been a great car to learn on!

Now... back to our regular scheduled programming... ;)

So... it's coming along.... still lots of work to make this new again....

I'm using Steel Weld by Permatex to rebuild the edge. I'm no bodyman by any means... but's it's coming along.

I also have a 92runner and their a great all-rounder suv. Getting rare the good ones in Australia though, mine turns plenty of heads with some lift n 1UZFE throaty burble
Are you adding flared guards or are you going to bite the bullet and buy a little mig welder n mask and grinder to put little shaped metal patches in there bro? Or
sign up for a short welding/fab course... Lots of challenges n fun plus a skill that will be more than handy in ur future 4B restorations ;)

For now, I'm just repairing it with the Stick Weld material... but will be priming, painting, and clearing over it all. Once that is all done... I'm gonna pack my existing fender trim with grease. (I've got the chrome looking trim pieces).

Here's a link to a Youtube Video I made about this... (1st of a 2 part series).

Very impressive! Just throwing it out there, I do like the roof rack but it seems a little lack-luster compared to the rest of that great build.

Not sure if you're talking about my old roof rack or buddy on top with the 2nd Gen?? If it's me... I scrapped that roof rack a few years ago. :sniper:

Today marked Mean Green's Maiden Voyage of 2019... she overheated a little... and I noticed the coolant was empty in the reservoir. I topped it up... and it was fine going forward.

Looks like I have a leak to find... lol!

It's been a long while since I've uploaded on the site. I suppose I got bored with the idea of modding my 3rd Gen, and continued building my 05 Tacoma instead.

I've had some naughty thoughts of selling my old girl... but recently had my interest re-ignited. Seems my wife and kids won't let me sell it, even if I want to... so might as well keep her. :)

I took this pic a couple of winters ago... but not much has changed on this old girl... aside from a new set of BF Goodrich KO2s...
