The front assemblies were pricy for me, as I live in the Great white Canadian North, and had to pay a ridiculous amount for the shipping. It cost me about $160.00 for the 2 struts, plus another $140.00 for shipping, and then another $25.00 or so for the Customs fees. The shipping is what killed me. You guys have it made States side!

As for part numbers: I had them on a PM Blcktpgr sent me, but ended up deleting the message. You may be able to get them from him. I ended up finding out that the part numbers matched the Coils that went on a 2002 Tundra TRD Access Cab, so I just looked for some on E-bay and bought some from Nordstrom's Automotive Inc. Shipping was quick, and the quality was great!

I think I've just been convinced to make the switch over myself. Where abouts did you get your lights? Looks nice. :banana:

Thanks man! Those light covers were only supposed to be a temporary fix to cover up the chip.....5 years later......ha ha ha!

As for the roof rack, it's in storage till next Spring. I'm planning on tinkering with it this winter, change up a few things, and actually wire up the lights that are mounted on the damn thing....never did do that!
 
Diff Breather Mod

So this is a mod I've been procrastinating to do. But today, while waiting for paint to dry, I decided to go ahead an get -R- dun!

First, I had to locate the original diff breather:

Once I loosened it off with some WD40 and a ratchet Wrench, I removed the old breather and then installed the Union fitting:

Once I was done with that, I moved on top by the Gas filler neck. I drilled a hole through the rubber gasket using my biggest bit and a drill. Once that was done, I fished some Fuel Line hose through the hole. I noticed that I couldn't find the other end of the hose, so I removed the Gas filler neck shield inside the inner fender, located the end of the hose, and then fished it through along with the gas filler neck.

Then I ran the fuel line to the Union fitting and secured it with a hose clamp. I then zip tied the fuel line to the Gas Filler neck, but leaving some slack to permit articulation:

Once I was done below, I moved back on top, and added the new breather plug. I used another hose clamp to secure the fuel line it, and then tucked it in.

Overall, it didn't take me much time to complete this mod. The only trouble I really had, was washing all the grease from under my truck off my hands!
 
That....is one greasy underside, but I guess you have that for the purpose of rust proofing?

I did this same mod months back, but to this day I still haven't been able to put it to the test. I had that one chance but crossing a fairly fast stream current got me backing out.:D.

Glad you finally found the time to do it...next?

You guessed right man. The winters here, can be horrible. The City uses road salt liberally, and trucks around here don't look good for long! My rig already had some corrosion from the 1st 6 years of it's life with the P.O. He never rust proofed it, and the underside had quite a bit of Orange. I've been spraying it anually since I got it, and it seems like the rust has been kept at bay.........

As far as what's next: I'm still finishing up my lower valance to put the driving lights in, and I'm working on saving some money for my Full sized spare......
 
Safari Light Bar....NO MORE!

So I decided to get rid of my Safari Light bar, and gain some ground clearance. I ended up making up some Light pods out of Margerine containers, and then mounting them into the Lower Plastic Valance to give them a more "Stock" look:

Added a "4Runner" badge to the rear hatch to change up the look of the stock badging!

Well, after seeing it photoshopped, I decided to do some E-Bay shopping! Found the 4Runner emblem and also a "Toyota" emblem for approx. $15.00 shipped.

Don't mind the dirt on my truck, it's winter here, cold as hell, and I'm not washing it till spring!

Just an FYI, I did clean off a spot to install the emblem! I was raised in the country, but I ain't no hillbilly! ha ha ha!
 
I just remembered I upgraded my horns last year! I got mine from Princess Auto, it's like a Tractor supply store....with all kinds of stuff for sale!

This pic, is for demonstration purposes only, It's got the low tone horn pictured, I used 2 high tone horns.

Now I'm searching for a deal on another bumper. I was thinking of upgrading to the 99+ bumper, then thought of using a Tacoma bumper, and now I'm thinking of just replacing it with another 98 bumper! ha ha! Still not entirely sure yet.......
 
You have an awesome truck. Nice job keeping it clean and trying to keep the wallet from evaporating haha.

Keep up the good work man. BTW I feel your pain with the Canadian snow and liberal salt usage. We have a full week of snow that has been forecast for us. Good times.

Thanks for the comments man! It definately is a constant battle of the rust! Luckily for me, I've been able to keep it a bay.....
 
What happened to your bull bar? Thats why they make them :thumb3:
Anyway I really Like your rig, looks wide as hell with your suspension setup.

I took it off about a week before "the incident"! ha ha ha! I posted a poll, asking everyone on here, whether I should keep it, or lose it......most said lose it! So I decided to try something different, took off the light bar, and built in my driving lights into the lower valance. I'm not going to blame the masses for my damaged bumper, but the funny thing is, if the light bar were still there, it probably would have saved my bumper! he he he! Either way, I'm planning on replacing it in the next couple of months, and going to try to do a better job at installing the driving lights! I'm planning on grafting the lights into the valance, and then maybe plasti-dip the whole assembly! (leaving the chrome bumper alone though, I like the chrome bumper on my rig)
