Filthy cooling system

For reals? Do people in Texas know that antifreeze kills animals and aquatic life?

My storm drain runs to a local creek. In the summer I like to fish in that creek and take my kids there. I kind of like having the fish stay alive. I hope people in Texas realize that too. If you're going to dump antifreeze, at least do it down a toilet or sink since that goes to a wastewater treatment plant first.

EDIT: Just saw the post about throwing it away. That's a little bit better, since at least it goes to a dump. But once it rains that coolant is going to find its way back into the waterways.

Nah, we got mutant super-fish here. Real hardy. Kinda gamey, too.

Seriously though, I agree. I personally don't dump it; I'm just saying that in some places, it's legally an option.

Yeah, not targeting you by any means. Just makes me sad when we don't steward well the life & beauty around us. Out here in CA there's so many people that if we aren't strict about pollution and conservation we'll lose so much of the beauty around us forever.

Anywho, I realize I'm starting to de-rail this thread.

Your mistaken on the drains.

Your allowed to dump it in your house drains. I've poured mine in the toilet many times. Bacteria eats it up so it's safe but make sure what your local policy is.

Please don't dump it in the AutoZone oil bins, that contaminates all the oil and makes it much harder to recycle.

"My head gasket is bad"

Frankly still not fond of the idea dumping in the drains. Actually checked my local waste disposal. Only open on weekdays and they charge a dollar per gallon to recycle. They can piss off. A day off work plus cost to drive around with a dirty container of diarhea coolant. They are practically asking for it to be dumped down the drains.
