Finally arrived after a year

Good things come to those who wait. The vehicle is just as I ordered, although when I ordered the factory tinted windows for the front two windows, I thought it would match the back windows, i.e. the tint would be inside the windows. It's not, but rather a film applied by Southeast Toyota at the port of entry. They did an excellent job and it looks fine now, but I know that over time it will dull and have to be replaced. C

Don't have any pictures yet. It's a Nautical Blue / Taupe Limited 4WD V8 with pretty much every option except two, the moonroof and the third row seat.

Very nice! Loaded and no sunroof is pretty cool. If my upper body was 1/4" taller I would have had tough desicions to make with the sunroof. Given the choice I would have gone without for the headroom... Taupe and blue, sweet!:bigok:

From a value standpoint you did well. Those 3rd row seats and the sunroof add real money and if you don't want them... Leaving those off paid for your nav. Way to go...

How come it took a year when a regular special order is 8-12 weeks?

It takes less than that to get a new GT3!!

As posted elsewhere on this forum, it took a year because I did things the hard way. I purchased a 4Runner with a sunroof from a dealer out of state. On the drive back home I realized I couldn't live with the lack of headroom. Every time I hit a bump, my head hit the edge of the sunroof and it hurt.

I sold it and ordered another one through an unscrupulous dealer here in the Atlanta area and waited six months for a vehicle that never came.

Went to another dealer, Milton Martin Toyota in Gainesville, GA and ordered it through them, which took about four months. A much more pleasant purchase (dealer plug). So it's almost been a year since the original purchase. It has been the best move since I now have a couple inches of headroom versus none before and it has the desired options. The plan is to drive this one until it dies, many, many years from now.

Ah, sorry to hear about all that man. You must have the patience of a saint. That episode with the 6 month wait sounds like it sucked big monkey balls. You must have REALLY wanted a 4Runner after that!!

Thanks, yes, so far they are great. I've driven the car twice now at night and smile because I can see. Our Honda Pilot could benefit from having the HID's, but it doesn't have projector headlights, so I think it might be a waste of time converting it.
