Besides, wouldn't that reduce clearance on the pin? Mine is just barely able to rotate.
We're clearly talking about two different thing. Replace those pins, and don't think twice about it. Give me your address, and I'll send you new ones. While your pin won't go in anymore it can come back out, and then get hung up.

The jam nut on the lower heim can be removed if you're having clearance issues between the lower heim, and the spindle. The pins are going to contact regardless of how you run it with those pins. If you're lower heim in not contacting the spindle then I'd let it be.

I purchased mine through the group buy and makes contact with the spindle. Also have lost a few of the pins and so I purchased the locking pins fro, the Fj links and have had 3 of those bend from the contact. There is also some major noise happening while connected.
From what I've read, will removing the washer and jam nut on the swaybar connection correct this? Have you had any luck with a bushing to ease the nose issue? I'm late to the game on this thread and any fixes that were discovered but can't stand the contact and noise any more.

Read through the thread and you'll find three required modifications:
1) The new shorter pins from Mike
2) remove locknut and washer
3) install sway bar relocate
I did these and mine have been great since.

For up coming orders I'll be adding Santoprene washers to help quiet them down when disconnected. These rubber washers resist water, oil, weather, and/or chemicals. That will help them hold up the road grime, oil, and anything you might encounter.
If you want to send them back I can take them apart to install these. I would only ask to do so around the end of June. I'm getting ready to move, and things are going to be pretty hectic for a bit.

Are the new washers replacement for inside the heim? If it's not difficult to do i can change them out to save you the trouble.

They'll go on top of the spacer to cushion when disconnected. There's no way to put a washer on the heim side of the spacer. If that rubber washer comes off your going to have an 1/8" gap with nothing to fill it.

I finally reinstalled my front sway bar this past weekend. It'd been off for a few months after initially trying to install these but finding the stock links would have to be cut off the swaybar with a sawzall. The stiffer springs I had up front made it not such a big deal to go without it.
I finally installed these and was amazed at the new found handing of my 4R. It felt like a sports car in comparison to before! Didn't have to brake nearly as hard around turns. I also was pleased to find that the links were completely quiet.
That is until one of the original pins broke the next day. I was able to find a cotter pin that made the clunking less pronounced. Ordered the shorter pins from McMaster Carr and installed them before work this morning. Things are great again. I'm hoping these pins last!

Just to make sure I understand, if someone were to order a new set of front links now, (1) and (2) would be taken care of automatically. Anyone have recent information on (3)? The link to Toytec on the "for sale" thread is broken, and I couldn't find anything by searching Toytec's site.

1 and 2 is corrected now. 3 does need to be done. The people that are having success with these are the people with the relocation kit. Sway bar relocation kit.

Those are the exact pins that I ordered. So far so good, no noise or broken pins.
I forgot to mention that I do not have my sway bar relocated.
