OME cs009r leafs

the OME CS009R leafs are such a very very big disappointment!! :uzi:

they ride like... well ... like plain ole shit!! my saggy springs were better than this!!! re-freaking-diculous!!!
if i keep them in, its gonna beat the truck all to hell and beat me all to hell and wiggle all the bolts loose holding the t4r together!!!
feels like the axle is welded to the frame with nothing at all. I'm not kidding y'all. can not see how anyone would even have these.
now that i literally pissed my money away on these, is there anyone here that can tell me any other spring that will offer me a better ride than the OME? and that will give me a lille bit of a lift? anyways I'm sore as hell right now so i hope i can walk tomorrow or get out of bed from this ride i took in my t4r around the block.

Did you replace anything other than the leafs? Shocks? These things ride relatively rough anyway. We're talking about expectations from a 28+ year old truck, coming from modern plushness of your 2014? My wife's 2016 Wrangler rides the same way as my 1988 4Runner..

I kept the stock springs and added extended shackles. Up front 1.5 inch ball joint spacers. So far so good the ride is just as good and I get a little lift.

in the rear all i have is the OME cs009r and 0-2" skyjacker black max shocks (not nitrogen charged). i removed the very bottom overload leaf to add a angle shim. thats it.
first time i installed the leafs, i removed a leaf from the pack as told by ARB, by doing that it lowered the truck rear a little too much, but when i drove it to test it out it did ride a little better. but it was too low so i put the leaf back in and it raised it back up where I'm happy with the amount of lift offered by the leafs, but geez! its like there is barely any suspension in the back. its so terrible that i cannot deal with it. I'm going to have to do something else.
i thought about removing the leaf AGAIN, then maybe do a longer shale to make the difference up. I'm just very disappointed is all. I've worked very hard on this truck for the past 3 days to know now ill be removing stuff again.
i know its not gonna ride like a caddy, lol, but this is definitely not how its suppose to ride at all. i bet if i hit a big bump in the road, the back end would probably bounce the tires off the road.

nice runner you have. my stock springs were so sagged, it way 1" away from bump stop. i was trying to achieve level hight or 1 to 1/2" higher in back so if i loaded anything for camping it wouldn't bottom out again.

im not much for doing that mod. don't know if i really wanna have a coil spring and leaf spring rear setup. if i do, what coil spring should i use in the rear and how is the ride quality?

The springs will naturally be a bit stiff out of the box. I suggest driving as is for a while the springs will soften up a bit.

Man I just installed a full ome suspension kit on my 87 4runner and thing thing rides so rough! Glad I'm not the only one. I removed the ome torsion bars and reinstalled the stock ones and still I feel every bump in the road. Interesting to know that even with non nitrogen charged shocks it still rides rough. I think my future plan is to put a few hundred pounds of sand bags in the back to help the ride. I hear the suspension need about 5k miles to really get broken in. It sucks though because ifs should ride nicer but not when it feels like there is a solid axle under there! haha

Also the zook mod seems cool, I did it, but I wouldn't recommend it. Basically the coil spring is replacing the job of the leaf spring so the leaf spring is kinda out of the equation

Well i just did the brake pads and rotors and repack bearings. That was a time consuming job!!! Alot of stuff had to come off.
Curious, there is a 12mm bolt with a big washer that bolts through the middle of the locking hub adapter. Bolts through the middle of the cv shaft end. Well... i barely tightened it and it just snapped right off. I think as much as it got screwed in i may be able to drill it to use a easy out to remove and put new boly in.
What does that do by the way? Wondering if it will be ok for now till i do it a little later.

no, if you take the cover of the locking hubs, in behind there, there is a 12mm bolt and washer that screw to the end of the cv axle. also allows the whole locking hub assembly to come off. don't have a pic yet

thanks!! i plan to take good care of her! I'm planning to take the original decals off and replace them new and have ding doctor take some small dings out and do a full paint correction polish on her! then painting the removable hardtop satin black.
