Finally got around to upgrading the audio..

My truck came with the JBL synthesis, but I wanted to make it sound mo betta.

This job was a lot, but I just did one - two steps a day and took my time, it turned out great.

New sub

New sub amp (the wiring is different now, this is when I had it inline with the factory amp before I decided to upgrade the headunit)

This little magnetic light is AWESOME

These wires are shielded, no interference

I saw a lot of people asking where to mount crossovers, this worked perfect

Replaced the front door tweeters and rear cargo speakers with these; I need to go back and put resistors inline, they are a little TOO loud (marine rated for when windows are down)

Front speaks

Cargo tweets (had to rewire both of these, apparently they're wired together, so to separate left from right, you need to run new wires)

Alpine and Urbanrunner trim piece

No right side controls

More buttons!

Back up camera (sorry, it was getting late)

Tweeter brackets (take the bracket off the door, mount the speaker in it, then reattach to door, it works 100x better than trying to make the speaker fit in the bracket while attached to the door, the bracket needs to bend a little)

Better than JBL

Perfect fit, no clearance problem at all

The sub amp is kind of hidden

I drilled the plastic welds off this panel so that I can put it on and take it off to adjust amp settings without taking the whole cargo area apart, I figured it would rattle a little since it's just clipped in and not "welded" in, but there's no rattle at all!

The Infinity speaker part numbers I used are discontinued, I had them laying around from a previous vehicle.

I'm very happy with this upgrade, the sub sounds amazing for being a tiny 8", I'm really impressed.

Others things I've done since I got my truck about 5 months ago:
Remote start
K&N Drop in filter
MAF cleaning
Seafoam (fuel system and vacuum line)
Removed Hydrocarbon filter
New Denso Iridium plugs
EBC Greenstuff brakes on all 4 corners
Turned front rotors
Replaced passenger front caliper
Originally had installed Parrot MKi-9100 before I did the new headunit
New front Bosch o2 sensors
New OEM PCV valve
Removed 3rd exhaust cat
Removed rear exhaust resonator
Angled rear exhaust tip to the right (no more in cabin stench with rear window down)

Things I still need to do:
Get / retrofit HID projectors
Add seat heating elements under cloth (front seats)
Get new wheels, mine leak from corrosion around the bead, I think I want FJ wheels
Leveling kit for the front
Replace xreas with some new shocks (I have about 104k miles)
Take it camping, on the beach, and over some rocks!

System looks sweet, I'm a little confused though. How are the speakers in the cargo area powered? Also do the right side buttons work well with the alpine HU?

You need to find a link to use that ends in .jpg probably. I'm not sure if you can share from iCloud on forums and such. The links you provided will only show pictures if make them links and we click the links.

It was a lot! haha, I've been putting it off for a while, but looking at ~$1,500 worth of parts just sitting there everyday finally got to me.

The cargo speakers are originally run in parallel with each other, and it's only 1 true channel, not stereo. I have the them set up to run parallel with the left and right rear speakers, like the left rear output from my amp goes to both the left rear door and the left rear cargo.

Alpine could really use an update on their phone controls; the "pick up" button will answer an incoming call, but you can't use it to make a call or redial, the "hang up" button works, it hangs up the call, doesn't do anything when out of a call. This head unit doesn't support "push to talk" or siri, so the 3rd button didn't do anything, but I remapped it to be a mute button, works fine for that.

I've always added bluetooth to my cars, I've used quite a few different modules, and they've all be able to access siri somehow, I'm not sure why this one won't, I've updated the software, hopefully they'll fix that soon. I'm not complaining, it sounds and works great!

Thanks! Yeah I've used all different RCAs over the years, but Rockford have always seem to given me the least interference (and I know you're not supposed to run RCAs along with the power cable, but these are shielded so well that it doesn't matter)

The 3.5's that I got fit perfect on the doors, no denting at all, and they press against the metal so they don't vibrate or anything like that, I got really lucky when I ordered those. Although in the rear cargo area, I had to dent the metal a little to get them to fit.

I DID ditch the center speaker, I was going to use the front speaker outputs on the head unit and hook it up (and use the RCAs for all the other speakers) but I decided against it, maybe later on I'll hook it up, I do have plenty of fill with those new "tweeters" though so I don't really see a need, plus that's where my GPS antenna is mounted now.

Lol anytime. I had a 3.5" speaker in the CC but I ditched it since my new radio doesn't have a surround function, it was really quiet. But I'm thinking about adding it to the rear cargo area to replace those two for a fuller tailgating experience...

Nice job! It's good to see you could get the right side steering wheel switches to work. I had the switches from previous installs of OEM units, but when I went aftermarket, I didn't have any luck with them, so I removed them. I started off with an Alpine, then followed up with a couple Kenwoods.

How do you like the small amps? Have you experienced any problems (overheating) with the Alpine amp mounted behind the panel? I did the same thing - made the speaker panel so I can remove that portion without dismantling the whole cargo compartment. I've been itching to get a couple of these little amps. Very cool just how small they have made them, as long as they last, and sound good.
