The local dealer installed my Revo's and changed my oil. The REVO's are a THOUSAND percent better than the stock dunlops!!! The 4runner now feels surefooted and stable. I had quite a bit of lateral sway when on the highway. I cant comment on traction in snow as most of it has melted here for now. I did climb through a small snow mound the plow had left and that was a piece of cake in 2wd...The wet road has been GREAT!! The tires give a feeling of confidence on the road handling.

I had Revos on a pick-up and loved them! I never drove it in snow to know about snow traction. Ok for light off-roading in sandy conditions, quiet on-road and one of the best rain tires I've ever driven on. The wear was even and reasonable. They didn't get much louder as they wore either. (I must include I'm an alignment freak and a good tire rotater.)
Someday my 4Runner will see snow. I'd like to try Nokian WR Suvs but lack of easy service/replacement and cost will make me do a set of GY Silent Armours or Revos (or maybe another set of Michelins).:cheers:
I havent had the chance to try them in the snow...I have heard both excellent and poor in the snow??? Maybe based on expectations??? The dunlops were terrible. I use to have a set of BFG AT and a set of BFG MT's on my Nissan truck. Both were great in the snow and obviously the MT's blew the AT's away in the mud. I had a set of super swampers at one point that were INCREDIBLE in the mud. So I would be happy to hear from some snow users of the revos! not sure about the gas mileage yet...I seem to get about 18.5

I have driven with these in the snow and love them. I am a police officer, and last year, as well as about a month ago we had a real bad ice storm (snow last year). Had to make it into work no matter what since a lot of people said they couldnt make it. Well, I made it in with my truck in 4wd, and was even sent out to go pick up some other police officers! They worked great. The first year I had them I was pulling people out of ditches with my revos on. I will get them again, which will probably be before next winter. I already have 50000 miles on them, and should get about 60k. Want to make sure I have fresh ones before they wear down too low for next winter.

Tire: P265/70/17 Revos. approx 42k miles on them running about 38-40 psi seemed to work best for me. Never had a flat ( probably just jinxed myself )
We had a ton of snow this year , almost a 100 year record.
Mike's Revo observation's . I kind of really watched different things as far as snow traction this year since I drove in it every other day ( see below )
Wet/rain = excellent
Ride = very good
Gas milage = excellent
Noise = good
Off road dry smooth trails = good
Off road dry rough rocky trails = made me nervous , because I didn't have faith in the strength of the tire.
Off road wet = muddy slippery conditions , not good.
Here is where it's was tricky: THE SNOW:
Wet heavy snow , 20+ degrees = marginal performance and worse the deeper/harder packed it got (1'+).
Light moisture fluffy snow , 0-20 degrees = good performance and deeper it was (1'+) worse they became. I did notice the colder it was the better they did. Because of so much snow I kind of kept notes on them.
Not a deep snow tire , but it did get me through and home safely , I got stuck off road a few times winter wheeling in deeper snow , but did manage to get out on my own except once. I also noticed when it was colder than hell they performed much better than in warmer temps.
Snow performance is a huge factor on tire traction with different type's of snow , different moisture contents and different depths , different outside temps. all played into the mix.
I feel these tires are decent for a light duty AT / light aggressive tire mostly because of the road performance and my gas milage has been great.
Would I buy again ?? I've always said never but never say never. I plan on trying something different probably GYW SA's or maybe BFG AT , but I've already had many sets of those , but even though I'm not overly concerned about gas prices , I still want to get the best milage possible out of the V8 and feel the Revos did that.
I also think a huge step up over stock.
Also available in stock size of P265/65/17 if you prefer , but more costly than the 70 series because of production numbers I'm sure.

Time for me to chime in here again as well! I agree with almost everything FALLS has to say EXCEPT for me and my 2008 sport edition V6 MY MILEAGE SUCKS NOW with the REVOS!! I was getting 18.5-19.5 mpg very consistantly. I know have not gotten over 17.3 in the EXACT same driving conditions. I average 16.5-17.3 on the highway at 55-65mph. I commute 28 miles to work one way everyday. Otherwise the WET performance is awesome and for whatever snow I have seen this late in the season they have been great. Ride is greeat and noise is no problem..but man the mileage reduction sucks. They are a HUGE improvement over the Dunflops..HUGE
I do not have a lift but I did upsize to 265/70/17...in hindsight HUGE mistake for mileage....I LOVE the tire and the aggressiveness of it and its wet handling ability..I am in the Endless Mountain ranges on the border of PA and NY...I live in PA and work in NY. I was shocked by the reduction...I have gone 58mph for 2 1/2 hours and only got 17.3mpg(on straight not mountainous roadss)...on the dunlops I would have gotten 19.5-19.9 calculated the real way not with the onboard computer. Even that computer has shown a reduction of 2 mpg from its overly optimistic readings!!!

By reading your milage stats I think its all in the eye of the beholder. I get 16.5 city/rural driving with a heavy foot , oversize tires and a full time 4x4 V8. On hiway trips 19 ish , I'm totally happy with that . Don't forget by upsizing a tire you actually travel further than you odo will show.
My hiway milage or any milage vary's for me depending on weather conditions. I also drive 20- 25k per year.

We also have been looking at a few other Toyota vehicles . Tacoma 4x4 SPORT SB DC and a RAV with awd and a 4 cyl.
