Can someone tell me what is the line width of the letters on this? I'm thinking I might embed a series of small rare-earth magnets to attach it without using tape or glue, and I'd like to know what size magnets to order before my badge arrives.

I just got mine in the mail today! Two in strong/flexible black. I'm thinking of dipping them. If I go that route, do I need to paint them with primer first?

The horizontals are 7mm and the verticals are 8mm.
I bought tape the height and width of the emblem and covered the entire piece then trimmed with exacto/razor knife.
You do not need to prime it first. Although it will come out with a smoother texture, at least with mine, if you do. I put quite a few primer coats and a equal amount of thin plastidip coats. I painted one too, both came out pretty good. The painted still needs some work the last coat had some small bubbles.

Here's what I did with mine… I bought some rare-earth super magnets from www.kjmagnetics.com. They are 3/16" diameter and 1/16" thick. I drilled 3/16" diameter holes in the back of the badge, then glued the magnets into the holes with thick CA. It took 20 magnets. (I added two more after taking these photos.)
I also lightly sanded the badge, then sprayed on a couple coats of primer. This was followed by four coats of black Plasti-dip.
The magnets hold the badge in place very tightly. I haven't tested it yet but I think they might even stay on during a "no touch" car wash.
So far I've only done one badge, because I under-estimated how many magnets I would need.

In my sig, emblems only, you'll need to pick up two sided tape, or magnets
, either primer+paint or a can of UV clear coat if you buy a color.

BTW, the magnets worked great, even held tight while going through the "no touch" car wash.
Which version did you pick? I like the wood lookSolid piece of bling. Pretty happy with it, however I'm gonna try to find a better, more secure means of mounting it.

I believe i got polished grey steel. the texture will be present on all the metal ones due to the printing process.

I also forgot to mention, MAKE SURE you apply a few coats of clear before attaching it. These things will rust if you don't!!! Trust me, I know, my enthusiasm may have made me skip a step...

I have had a couple people ask me "What is that?"
I say "A 2015 Trail Edition 4Runner" and I am done.
Guess I am just not that into all the badging and crap.

To each his own. To me it was just a fun, inexpensive way to slightly customize my vehicle.
