Finally got rid of the Dunlops

I ended up getting a great deal on a set of Bridgestone Revo in the 265/65/17 size. What a huge difference in ride, steering response, and traction. I put on 22k miles on the Dunlops, and there was probally 7k-10k miles left. They have developed cracks around the tread and above 65mph it was loosing its tracking.

These tires look amazing on the truck!

I did the same thing about a month ago. I had 18k on the Dunlops and was equally unhappy with them. The Toyota dealer ordered them from Tire Rack for $148 per tire and then $20 each for mounting.

I've been really impressed so far and I agree they look great on the 4R.

On a side note, how do you like the WRX? I owned a 2002 when they were first introduced and had a blast with it.

After installing the Revos I do not have the tracking issue above 70mph anymore. Piece of crap Dunflops!

Fun car! I needed a second 4-door car because of my son. But did'nt want anything boring. As soon as I test drove the WRX I fell in love. The 2006 is the first year of the 2.5 liter and more torque less turbo lag than the previous 2.0 liter. Also Subaru went with red 4 piston calipers up front and 2 piston in the rear. The wrx has more head room than my 4runner. lol

See now if you had mentioned a tracking issue then you would have gotten some replies. My '03 SE with the Done-flops seems to handle a little squirelly - is that a tracking issue. My old '90 4Runner had Michelin LTXs and rode straight down the road --- far better than my '03. '03 rides nicer but doesn't give me a confident feel at speed. I replaced the heavy treaded M&S Done-flops on the '90 due to there very dangerous wet road traction. Only have 20k miles on the '03 - so hoping to hold off til just before next winter. GULP, The cost of 265/65x17 tires over the old 235/75x15 is double! What do you mean by tracking issues?

That they were squirly above 65mph. I would have to steer left or right to go straight. I had the alignment checked and also had the tires rebalanced. Still had the problem! Going to new tires emliminated the tracking issue.

Getting ready to replace my Dunlops too (31k miles).... How's the noise level compared to the Dunlops.

I haven't found the Revo's to be any noiser than my Dunlops.

I just came back from a road trip too Scottsdale, AZ from Santa Rosa, CA. I put over 1800 miles in a few days of purchasing the Revo's.

They're great! They are obviously a little noisy compared to the dunlops, but not enough to drive you crazy. Just a little howl sound from the aggressive tread compared to the dunlops. I was driving 80mph most of the way.
