Finally...

[Durango24runner]

Finally got my 2013 4runner SR5. Couldn't be happier. This is definitely a step up from a 2001 Durango. I got the convenience package which is good for me as I don't see this as a luxury vehicle and was glad I didn't have leather as I wore wet swim trunks without worry already. Love the efficiency in Drive(20.9 mpg with mixed driving) and love the power when easily shifted in to 4rth. It is competent both on and off road. Especially off road. Holy crap!!!!! It got a workout and I love the downhill assist. The Dunlop Grandtreks are just fine by me. Wouldn't go mudding though. The vehicle is quite adept at serious inclines and declines, not to mention soft sand.

This vehicle is large, but not too large. Just perfect.

I was actually impressed with the stock stereo, but found it didn't work so well with my android phone with streaming, phone and audio mode, common issues I'm reading. I'm getting an aftermarket nav/stereo with rear camera. This was part of the plan anyway. No more mods for me. It's my only vehicle and will see a lot of commuting and regular daily drive.

Frankly I liked the Durango. Drove like a truck but handled very well. Very comfortable interior for me. Fuel mileage was terrible. It was very capable off road and handled winter very well. I thought it was a good looking vehicle.

I would have kept it longer but I jumped on an opportunity to get a 4runner.

The Durango nickeled and dimed me to death. Many trips to the repair shop. Often times for the same thing going out. The creeks and rattles also were starting to worry me.

After having owned two dodges, I will go on record as saying that Chrysler is the antithesis of quality. Their vehicles drive off the lot beautifully and then degrade.

It will always hold a soft spot in my heart, though.

Funny thing - I travel a fair amount on business and consequently get the free upgrades to decent rental cars. Chrysler/Dodge products are high on my list when I can get them: Durango, Full sized trucks, 300/Charger - awesome rental cars, drive great, awesome power, very nice.

I had an '07 Dodge Ram SLT1500 - I'm done! $8000 in assorted repairs over 3.5 years and ~140,000 miles!

No more Chrysler/Dodge at home, but they do make nice rental cars!
