Finding a Toyota Rep

Hey folks,

How does one go about finding a Toyota rep for getting assistance with new vehicle issues? Apparently I'm not the only with a rattle in my rear hatch, saw some others on Edmunds complaining about the same thing; (RE: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1416 )

You may try the Toyota customer service number, 1-800 331-4331. You can open a record, and suggest that all with the same problem do the same.

I called and they chk'd my VIN for any service bulletins or recalls and it came up empty but they noted the condition and suggested I go to a dealer. I asked if they could provide dealer stats in terms of quality of service, I've been un-impressed with my usual, and they said they did not give out that data. Why not I asked, who are you protecting, the customer or the dealer, but my tone did not induce the lady at Toyota to change their policy on the drop of a hat.

So off to the dealer I go where I fully expect some punk kid to shove some bubblegum into the door jam after holding my car for a day and I fully expect the rattle in the rear door hatch to remain. Ahhh, the pleasures of new car ownership!
