When I lived in Boulder for a year back in 99 there was a local tool rental company that rented everything, including cement trucks, no business license was needed.
I remember seeing the Castle Rock back then, very neat. I had a good friend who lived in Centennial near the Englewood Dam. Suburb city now.

I really thought I had this one in the bag with the togglers. I got the first row of holes drilled (12x 1/2" holes)... went to mount the first bracket and the damn bolt wouldn't grab. I noticed some resistance from the insulation when putting them in, but was pretty sure I had them engaged, pulled enough, and taut.. but nope. This has turned into a pain in the arse.

I use a 9 inch long 3/8" bit to poke in the hole and spin it in the insulation to tear away just enough to ensure that it doesn't get caught, we even do this in our commercial applications. did you use the actual brand or just toggle bolts...?

I ran to Lowes and got the original Toggler brand. I just wasn't good with the Hillman version, plus the reduced capacity.

Does that method work well with blown insulation too?

A Franklin will work with chipboard, I just did this recently but it did not have drywall on top. I'm sure it wouldn't make a difference since the drywall is less dense.

I picked one up at Costco.
