Firestone air bags with daystar lift?

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out if I can add a set of Firestone air bags to my 2008 4r with XREAS even if I have the daystar 2.5/1.5 lift.

Has anybody done it and does it work great?

I've read that it can't be done with the stock air bags.

If you have the stock rear air system, the Daystar won't fit and there's no need for the aftermarket bags. Your only option is to ditch the rear air system for rear coils, then add the bags (doesn't make sense unless the OEM system has failed).

If you don't have the stock air bags, you can use the aftermarket coils with the Daystar spacer.

I don't have the stock air bag system. I'm about to buy a big travel trailer and don't want to look like I'm about to lift off!

Ok, it sounded like you did in the original post. I know zstampe use to run the air bags with the daystar rear spacer, so I know its possible.

Question for you have you looked to see what it is you want to do. Or is it just an idea right now.?? I am running airbags in the rear..thats why im asking check out my thread there should be some pics and stuff in there it'll give u an idea.

It worked fine for me, you shouldn't have a problem.

Should be no prob. I have had mine in for about a year and a half and love them. No issues with them at all.

I was just wondering if I should leave an extra 1.5 inch of bump stop, in other words to cut the bump stop lower than they ask you to do. The bump stop shape looks like it wouldn't make much of a difference on the contact area with the air bags. This way it would be like stock I guess.

I'm also going to go with the Firestone instead of the Air Lift because of the top air inlet design instead of a bottom design for the AL. It bugs me to know that the air line would move all the time with suspension travel. It looks like a design to get a leak in no time!

Any comment?
