Firestone Destination A/T - Best place to purchase

I most likely will be making a purchase for a set of the Firestone Destination A/T's tomorrow, is there a good place (price) to get them? (stock size)

From what I can dig up Tire Rack & Tires-Easy are the 2 best on price/shipping. Anyone know of a better site?

I found a couple sites with free shipping but they did not have the tires I wanted, go figure.

If anyone has or knows of any discount codes for either site I would appreciate any tips.

I tried that already, rather give local my $$$ for a few extra. Was quoted between $85 and $100 more PER TIRE for a local shop. They all suggested to buy on-line and take to them to install. Unless you want to donate $400 to my tire fund?

Where on the Cape are you? There is a Firestone tire store in Quincy, don't know the price but might be worth a call. Also i'm pretty sure Sears stocks the Destination AT's and i believe they will price match but don't hold me to that.

Midas was $100 over per tire, I was shocked! Sears I think had them when I looked but a decent about more than what was 'reasonable', but I might see if they price match. Quincy is a little too far, but now that I think about it I might have forgot a local shop that sells Firestones (bought from them about 6 years ago) but they did not come up under the firestone dealers though, hmmm, look into that tomorrow I guess.

Not sure what size you're looking for but was just looking at 265/70r17 on tire rack for 195 and sears for 202

I went to a local Firestone dealer and they priced matched from an on-line dealer. I have 19,000 miles on my Destinations and the tread is holding up well. The tires are still quiet and in balance, the only thing that Im not impressed with is there wet handling capabilities and this has been since day one.

The next tire I will try will be the Cooper AT3, they have been getting some great reviews...

tires plus. i had my destinations for my xterra and my 4runner put on there. don't go by the price the quote you, there is always room for them to do better.

Thanks for the tip.....but they don't sell them online and no store within 250 miles of me!

The best price I can find for the tires is around $170 each (that is a set of 5, includes the cost of shipping divided by 5 to be fair)

I did call the local Firestone place I forgot about yesterday, he said he does not have any in stock and has to do some digging and will call me back, arg.

Just got them installed this morning.....ohhhhh sooooo nice Love the looks of them, SO much better than the stock tires! Now that 5100 lift is really calling my name (going to be annoying and hold out for that 'official' 10+ release though). Oh, you want photos.....just keep biting your nails.....I will take some later today!

Whooaaa...those new skins look dandy.

I'll be curious to see you much better they are in the crappy weather. I think the tires and airbags were the two simplest,and best mods to date.

I doubt they could be any worse than the stock tires! (not complaining from my experience but based off of reviews it sure seems they were not good)....

I had 285 destinations on before my duratracs, in snow they did very well. But on the hard packed snow/ice, different story. Can't wait til Missouri gets some snow so I can test out these dura's.

Destination A/T are one of the most under rated tires on the market. They are a great tire.

Westwind, please post your initial impression of the Destinations over the OEM tires regarding any difference in body roll (I suspect minimal) and road noise. The Destinations are on my short list to replace the OEM Dunlops on my T4R. Also, how many miles did you have on the BS at the switch?

I recently put set on my 4th Gen. I Love how much better they look, but they are still incredibly quite. Mine have handled pretty good in the wet, only thing is they pull a little going through puddles. Haven't had a chance a for winter driving yet.

I really was considering the Duratracs, but I had a chance to drive a jeep wrangler with them on and wasn't impressed with them other than their looks. On the Jeep the had a loud hum, they wandered around the road and it really felt like the thing had lead shoes on. Maybe the experience is different in a 4Runner though.
