I agree that running it through the firewall with the factory harness would probably be the easiest thing to do, but I'd have to open it up more than I'm comfortable with to run a plastic connector through it. Unfortunately, I'm not just running wire through it. That's my 'Plan B.'
The harness is going to be routed up along the A-pillar, so I'm open to additional suggestions for routing through the firewall and then up.
What kind of connector is it? Is it an option to cut it off and reattach it once the wire is on the other side of the firewall?
I wouldn't suggest just cutting into that hump without knowing whats behind it. It may be nothing, or it could be an expensive component that a drill would ruin. I feel like if there's nothing behind it, there wouldn't be that hump there in the first place. It's easier to leave the firewall flat and not put it there, so it must be purposefully built/placed to fit /guard something behind it.
Any guesses? If not, I'll take a drill to it tonight. Or a sawzall. That should it.

I vote for the sawzall ... What ever it is can't be THAT important...op2:
Anyway... you've piqued our curiosity now. What are you installing? Police cruiser lights on the roof? A lidar system for self-navigation?
A light-up sign to give rude drivers the finger???!!!
The suspense is killing me. Pictures please!!!!
When in doubt, ALWAYS use a sawzall.
I opted for a little holiday lighting project...

The actual project was setting up a Switch Pros system...
