Looking to but either gen4 or gen5 and this one popped up in my market. It's a little out of my price range but if it pans out I might be able to swing it.

2010 Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition

No specific items (that are commonly a problem) on any year 4runner that I am aware of to look out for. However I would try to get the maintenance records from the dealership, find out how long the current owner have owned it, run a car fax etc. Also have them send you photos of the engine bay and undercarriage (or better yet check it out in person). Check tires for remaining life/current condition which can help decide how good of a deal the truck is.

Good luck with purchase and don't over extend yourself to buy. They may not be common but 4runners are not Unicorns and another will always be available to buy.
