First 4Runner

Greetings from Oregon, where you can smoke pot until you chose to die! But enough of our political landscape!

I just bought my first 4Runner last month. Drove off the lot a 2018 SR5 Premium so we could have the third row. While not my first Toyota, it is certainly my favorite. We are now a 100% Toyota household. My wife has her 2007 Camry XLE and my daughter is driving my 2005 Camry SE with over 260K and running strong.

While I have always driven trucks, with the exception of the '05, as we no longer have our hobby farm I went with my dream vehicle which is the 4Runner. So far I am very happy with it with the only exception being the "tinny" sound the doors make when closing them vs. the full size trucks I've had. That's to be expected though, I am sure.

One thing about this site I have learned is that, well, most of you are a bad influence. My expenditures and wish list both continue to grow. And just when I think I have made up my mind, someone posts about a similar product and I start all over. I honestly have no concern adding to it though as I not only know I will be driving this for a very long time but when the time comes, it will probably go to our son or will be my "don't care about scratches, let's go!" rig.

Cheers!
Jeff

Here's one after its first bath. One I get the added goodies arriving today and added I'll take more.

We haven't even gotten our 4R yet, and yet our mod list is pretty long too!

Congrats Jeff! I bought my 4Runner SR5 Premium w/ 3rd row last night. Things I don't like about it right off the bat is the nose dive while coming to a stop, the MPG and the slippery feeling steering wheel but otherwise I love it!

Right back at you! I can't complain too much about MPG. Been getting 19 which is far better than what I am used to. After a few weeks the steering wheel gets much better. Nose dive? Not so much.

Cheers!

First GhosChili, welcome to the forum, from one newbie to another! Great looking gen 5 you've got there!

Second, your post made my day because I hadn't heard of a foam lance before. I've been looking for a better way to wash our vehicles at home in order to avoid paying out the ying yang for quality car washes! Plus, it gives me the perfect excuse to get the power washer I've been wanting! :-)

To be honest, it is what finally got me to start using my pressure washer! Mine is a MJJC and I got it online for about $30 - $40 if I remember. They are also called a foam cannon depending on area, brand, etc. The only issue I have had is user error my forgetting to mix the soap and water before turning it on. And for a really good clean, this with a two-bucket wash will leave nothing behind.

New 4Runner

I got rid of my troubled 2013 10th Anniversary Rubicon and ordered a new 2017 4Runner and it took about 3 months to get.

Well worth it.

This is very cool... I was talking with a Jeep guy today who was poo pooing on Toyotas.. I had jeeps before (CJ, Scrambler) but would never take one on a long trip for fear of breakdown.

I now have a 2007 4Runner Sport 4x4 and am thrilled. Can't wait to get it somewhere in the woods.
