So, I had an opportunity this evening to head up to Corolla, NC from my home in Kill Devil Hills. I wanted to take her to where the real sand is, in Hatteras, but don't have the permit (yet) that is newly required.

If you're not familiar, this is HWY 12 (yes, the HWY is also the beach here) that runs from Corolla, through Carova, NC, and up to Virginia Beach, VA.

If it's the Coast Guard that would be shooting at you, I'd say go for it as they're lousy shots and wouldn't be a real threat.....
