First "mod."

Hey everyone! My wife and I have been eyeing the 4Runner for 2 years now. We had two prii and were limited in what we could do and where we could go with the kids and dog. The day came last month. We found the 4Runner we wanted (minus the blizzard pearl) and did the deed.

Anyways, here are pics of our first "mod." We're originally from Florida where every car comes properly tinted. Apparently in the PNW, they don't believe in tinting so we got that fixed.

The back as you can see had some factory tint. We just had 28% 3M ceramic tint added all around. It really is the best tint we've ever had. I thought I'd be disappointed in the ceramic but you really do feel less radiant heat coming through. My ginger skin is happy now.

I wish. It's the black/charcoal. It is pretty sweet though. As long as it's not beige I'm ok.

Go get a few cans of plastidip, several rolls of frog tape and a couple yards of plastic sheeting and do your obligatory chrome black outs and you'll be well on your way to mod additiction

Sweet. I just bought a Nautical Blue SR5P last night. My favorite color on these things. It's going to the tint shop tomorrow morning.

Tint is usually the first thing I do with any vehicle I buy. Congrats on the 4runner!

My wife's '15 4R SR5P is also nautical blue. Georgeously unique in my opinion - until I park it in many garage which is lighted with LED luminaires.

I've already told my wife I wanted to do the black outs. She said no (it's her vehicle for now). As soon as I earn some pin stripes :artist: she'll relent and trade me cars.

I'm ok with it. The trade in and our current other car are about the same levels. We're night owls and love the dark. Anyway, the summer out here can be rough and the rest of the year is amazing.

If you can't tell, I don't miss Floriduh.

This is my second summer here and apparently they've both been the worst on record. There has been no such thing as Juneuary since I've been here and today was our 14th~ day in a row of 80+ days.

Fires are raging, even in the Olympics which is crazy. Shit's fo real. AC units are sold out everywhere and have been since May.

I walk outside to check the mail (20 feet) and have to re-shower when I get back inside.

CO I agree.. I have only been there for a few month but it was bright. South nah I live in AR for 3yrs I didnt need my tint but ac was needed. Humidity kicked my ass.
I was in Iraq for 6months 140+ and Al Udied I bought two sunglasses because the first one wasnt enough.

I'm born and raised Central Floridian. I know all too well what I am missing. Up here though, there's no AC in most houses because it's only supposed to get hot for about 1-2 weeks a year, not the current trend of 3 months. With beating sun, no breeze and no AC, sometimes the only respite you have is to get in your new, nicely tinted 4Runner and drive around to cool off.
