Hello everyone,
This is my first thread and I'd like to start it out with a shout out to the host and moderators for making this forum possible and great. I also want to thank 99yota4, Brian2sun, ChildrenOfBodom, Duhockey, kregg, steezemcqueen, xskydivingdudex for their great article on lifting 4runners, I was able to use the info along with reading what our forum members had to say to make all the decisions on lifting mine. Now I'm hooked on what mod to do next lol (either armor or locker). Every mod I do now is after reading what our members have done, what a great resource.:bravo:

Welcome to the great 4runner "hall of records"! Pull up a seat and get comfortable -- you're going to be here a while. If you can't find the info you need, someone else here probably can.

Welcome! I'm about to start reading the lift thread as well because that's what mine will get soon, hopefully before winter. I just picked up my 97 yesterday and have a few things to do before I lift, like a power steering pump

If you wheel then get armor first. A locker will get you in to territory where armor is necessary. Luckily these things have great ground clearance but i am still shocked on how little armor is talked about. Maybe because I came from an xterra where armor was almost more important than a lift lol

I highly reccomend the Sonoran Steel 1.2 kit. My t4r rides way better than stock, corners great, handles a load without sagging and did great going to the swimming hole down the stream bed with big tree roots and rocks that is the road in . The owner Steve put together a very complete kit and is helpful, knowlegeable, and delivers great customer service, plus it's all Toyota parts.

That is good advice, I would feel a lot safer off road. I've been thinking about the full set from Shrockworks, it seems to have the most coverage of every thing I've seen. Any ideas and advice on armor from all you 3rd geners would be appreciated.

My Toyota knowledge on this is low but shrock makes a good product. They're a little more expensive but honestly not by much. Only down side is the wait.
