Hey Guys,

First time purchasing a 4R and dreamt about it for about 8 years since discovering how great of suv it is and pricey too.. Working hard does really pay the price..
Asides that I love every bit of the 4Runner with 580 miles and still braking her in.. Didn't know that cruise control will mess up the brake in process since it just stays in one speed idle at 2500 rpm @73mph.. So since then I started just driving it normally without pressing the pedal down to rough.. This is my second new vehicle so I wanna keep her long lasting as possible..

Got a Super White 16 SR5 4WD w/ Black Interior

So Far Did:
- Bug/Rock Deflector
-5% Tint all around with Air Blue Front
- Husky Mats (Replacing with Weather Tech)
- Weatherproof Cargo Liners

Upcoming
Nerf Bar Running Boards
TRD Rims

For your viewing pleasure and its a big night/day difference on height and comfort..

Welcome. I love that "old" Honda. I've got a 2016 Tacoma I'm hoping to keep a long while. The first oil change is scheduled at 10k miles so I'm piggy backing the free oil changes. I pay for one at 5,000 and take the free one at 10k. I'm still only at a little over 6500 miles. My Tacoma is Super White and I just had the first gen painted to match.

Interesting how yours is 10k mine is 5k lol..

And thank you

Nice 4Runner!

I looked at getting a bug deflector but saw some folks had issues with it causing paint damage. Keep an eye on it!

I got the WeatherTech mats. They are very functional, the fit is great except along the door sill they don't conform and lay flat. I used some small velcro strips but they did not adhere.

What did you not like about the Husky Liners?

What did you use for cargo liner? I am still looking for a cargo liner, the Weather Tech liner doesn't look rugged or form fitting.

Damage on what part? If a rock hits the deflector? The deflector I am using isn't abs plastic but it feels softer..

Weather tech was a preference I tried the husky but it was cheaper but got a better option on weather tech..

Cargo Liner I used weatherproof on Amazon.. It does not come rolled but more of flat and ready to be installed.. it works fine..

First 4runner

Hey guys and gals,

Hope this is a good place to start as i could not start my own thread, so markie671 not trying to steal your thread.

So my wife and I are Finally part of the 4runner club. Had a 2000 Toyota Tacoma TRD SR5, and now selling to pay for our 2015 SR5 4runner with 31k. Needed a kido friendly vic! Wanting to start building it up, but debating of lift kit "old man emu" or skids first. Most say suspension first because of weight of skids, but if going with aluminum...... Also is Aluminum worth the cost and weight savings vs. tried and true steel?

Anything helps and will be digging through the forms for info.

Thanks.
