I couldn't wait to get my lift, wheels, and tires. Went for a little excursion today. Ended up smashing my fender flare somehow. All the clips broke and the plastic clip that is fused to the fender cracked off too. Dang nab it! I should've known better than to wheel too soon.

But the good news is I haven't wheeled since my old FJ (~2 years ago) so it's Carnage well worth it.

Once you get the first couple anxiety riddled dings out of the way you'll be less worried about it and more likely to pay attention to proper lines and approaches.

I went in with my stock 4th gen on first outing and didn't feel bad when the running boards were taco'd (the guys were all wincing as they heard them cracking and bending on the trail); but I knew from the moment I bought it that Nature would fix those running boards for me.

It's all about having the proper expectations, off-roading is a risk/reward game; some days things just go bad and panels need to be repaired no matter how skillful you are.

I'd pull the fender flare off, inspect the damage (might need a new one if the supports on the flare are damaged) and get a handful of new one-use clips and reinstall it.

Ended up FINALLY finding the time to fix these tonight. Had to melt the plastic tabs back together onto the flare and add new lock clips to the front. I took this time to remove my rear fenders as well.

I'm happy with the turn out.
