Took some pictures after fishing the other day.

Also started getting the rear suspension dialed in, starting with extended travel Bilstein 5100s from Toytec. Those went in without a problem, but I really don't like changing the rear shocks on these trucks.

Also bought some bumpstops from a Chevy Blazer, aka "junkyard bumpstops", cost me $20 from the local yard where they pull parts for you (see http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/134139-junkyard-rear-bump-stops.html and http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/139991-bumpstops-buy.html) I only have the passenger side installed right now, I sheared the bolt off in the mount for the driver side :dammit:. I'll be drilling that out this afternoon. And I have an extended rear brake line I need to install. I need to check if I can get away without installing the brake line for now, I want to go wheeling tomorrow.

Good to hear the Bilstein's went in without too much of a fight. Your 4runner is looking good! Did you trim down the Blazer's bump stops at all like in the junkyard bump stop thread? I might go that route when I do my rear lift as it seems the easiest/cheapest.

Good to hear the Bilstein's went in without too much of a fight. Your 4runner is looking good! Did you trim down the Blazer's bump stops at all like in the junkyard bump stop thread? I might go that route when I do my rear lift as it seems the easiest/cheapest.

Thanks Kraze! I did not trim them down yet, the shocks sit at about 19" at ride height, and compressed length is 14.9" and the bumpstop is about 4" from the axle right now. It seems to be appropriate length so the shock won't over compress. And the bumps are pretty soft so they shouldn't limit up-travel too much. I haven't been able to wheel it yet and check everything out though.

No luck, my drill had no chance. I took it to the Addicted Offroad shop here in Fort Collins and Scotty said he will just plasma the bottom piece of the mount out and weld in some new plate with a nut on top, just like the factory mount. It's getting done Wednesday. I trust Scotty more than some $8/hr tech with a big drill. I think drilling it is possible but damn that bolt is hard and its just in a tough spot. Plus I messed up the hole a bit trying to drill it out myself...

That makes 2 of us...I've just been too lazy because I don't want to deal with it.

Yeah I wasn't happy at all. I thought arty: $20 and 10 minutes for longer bumps. Wrong. Hahah. Oh well I guess. Let me know how drilling yours goes.

Went on a little shakedown run now that the extended bumpstops are both in. I also removed the front sway bar and moved the front links to the rear. Everything works well for the most part, but my driveshaft REALLY gets into the stock gas tank skid now, I'm trying to decide which gas tank skid I want, probably the Lil Skips.

And picked up a spare 80-series wheel for $20. It's ugly because it was a spare, but it isn't pitted at all, so a bead blast and powdercoat will have it looking better than new.

That's some awesome scenery you have up there. And nice find on the LC wheel! Looks like we both ran into the same problem with the gas tank skid with our similar lifts. Hopefully aftermarket skids will alleviate our problems! Although my driveshaft is awfully close to the gas tank itself, even on flat ground with no skid on so I might be screwed haha.

The scenery in Colorado is pretty much unbeatable! I read about your driveshaft/gas tank skid interference problems, it's crazy that it hits just on the road. Hopefully a skid will solve your problems man. Going with an Any7?

Yep, already ordered it from them actually. They said it should ship out sometime next week! I was thinking about getting an adjustable panhard bar to maybe pull the axle away from the drivers side, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea just yet. We'll have to see if the new skid will give me enough clearance by itself.

Hopefully yours isn't as close as mine. My hub to fender measurements are around 26.5-27, so it's way more lift than I anticipated and I guess I can't be surprised that I'm having this problem. I'm also still going to have to lengthen the Blazer bump stops somehow. You really lucked out on the height you're at when it comes to that!

I'll watch your build thread to see if it works out for you. I think an adjustable panhard will increase the contact between the drive shaft and the gas tank skid. My hub to fender is around 25.5", so I'm surprised yours is so tall. The blazer bumpstops worked really well for me, but I can see them needing to be extended on your skyscraper!

Whose badass trike is that?

It's my buddies brothers trike. That thing gets sketchy and it's super bumpy, but it was a blast.


Went wheeling yesterday, but ended up getting lost amid a bunch of mining trails that dead-end instead of finding the actual trail. Oh well, still a fun day.

This rig was on 42s, Fox shocks on all 4 corners, I'm assuming it was spooled front and rear, and had a diesel hiding under the hood. He made the off-camber left line look pretty easy.

Ran Moody Hill and Crystal Mountain west of Fort Collins with [MENTION=82211]TCMach[/MENTION] and his roommate. Had some fun, pushed some wheeling comfort limits and nothing broke, that's a win!

nice build you got going on there. How you liking the those extended billies from TT. I love mine but i really wish they had a little more dampening but the they are damn smooth. I am gonna have to make a trip out there to denver and come meet you guys sometime. Probably have to coordinate with Nate and get out there around the same time frame.

Thanks man! The extended 5100s are great so far. I agree they are super smooth. Definitely let me know if you make your way out here, we could get a good group together for a trail run.
