Our 97 Limited with 180k miles on it, got a new Koyo radiator today. No milkshakes for me! Install was a breeze, I started to remove the clips for the grill, and gave up once I realized I really didn't need to remove it to get to the bolts. I will honestly say the grill clips are probably the hardest part of the swap.

LOL, once you figure out how the grill clips work its simple from there on.

+1 on the grille clips, if I was a criminal 4runner grilles would be my favorite thing to steal lol. Crazy how fast you can pop it off. Nice going with a preemptive radiator swap.

If we are talking about the same clips, it takes a small screwdriver or pick to reach in and press down on a small tab, releasing the clip. Hard to explain really, take a close look at the back of the grille clip, you will see the little tab in there.

Ive removed/installed grilles on my 4Runner for a total of 11 times now. Literally! And I still cant figure those things out! :( I just zip-tie it now haha
