Honestly that lift looks perfect. Unfortunately I'm not mechanically savvy with cars but with a lift like this do you have to worry about extra stress being put on other parts of the car? If not, I am going to order this kit, I think it looks awesome. Also, does this kit make it more likely to roll while doing basic crawling?

Thanks for the comment generally any modification of a vehicle puts some kind of stress on other parts whether it be lights or lifts thats just part of the hobby I know im going to go through. Front end parts more often and brakes will wear out sooner and fuelmileage will decrease its just part of the deal but I understand that and this is what I enjoy so this is what I do and as far as rollover risk its def more likely because my center of gravity has been raised over a foot and width has only increased a few inches

okay guys sorry for the delay but i had shoulder surgery last wed. so makes it hard to finish the truck. on another note i ended up buying new bushings for the lower control arms since the seized sections of cut off bolts wont come out so once those are in i can get the front end back together. santanos, i think ive seen your truck before maybe in smithville when you first did a leveling kit maybe? is it a v8? im in galloway btw so 15min away. im also working on selling my 285's maybe next week so i might have a set of
35's by the time my shoulder is in any kind of condition to finish this but it nice to see another member has done this which may help other see that the kit bolts in and works well. once my truck is finished it will def. see some dirt since i havetn driven it since july which leads to the big reason why i purchased this kit. itll be easier to show you guys once i can get pics...

thanks man, i figure my bushings will be here next week and a day or so to replace them cuz ill have to drop em off to get done and i have a friend that owes me for installing his iron rock offroad 6" long arm kit in his jeep, im gonna make his ass come over and just tell him what to do. cant really screw up 2 bolts on the each end of the arms and the shock bolt. lol

Dont think you saw me I havent been to smithville in yrs. My truck is a v6 and my wifes is a v8. I'll also extend the offer to help with the wrenching as I have access to a press at my work. I just had to do the same thing to mine as the bolts were also frozen

actually thats where everyone thought the difference was. the big reason why everyone never thought this would work was because the 4runner is suppose to have an 8" front dif. where the fj and tacoma have 7.5" difs. im figuring this difference is on the inside of the casing and is not noticed on the outside size of the dif. thats why this kit works on the 4runners.

I'm getting my control arms back tomorrow from idm machine shop and I'm waiting to hear back from rough country because the used kit I purchased uses the old style rear upper control arms they have Johnny joints in both ends and they need a rebuild. I emailed them pics of my arms today so they can direct me on a rebuild kit for them.

quick question for you how does yours ride, I ask because a lot of the fj guys complain about the rear shocks being to stiff. I figured with our heavier truck we might be ok though. what's your feeling about it.

This one was posted on TW awhile ago. While not a Toyota, and undoubtedly the most embarrassing example I could post, thanks to the color it does show how the lift is achieved. With the LCA's being at a lower point and such.

Is there an elevator or at least a ladder to get in/out? i`d need one for sure.

I really couldnt tell you exactly where we were we were out in the trails for nearly 12 hrs on Saturday. So many trails out out there. Just got watch some of those holes are deep I actually got an inch or so of water in my truck but still a great time

I'd be interested in knowing, but how much ground clearance do you have between the ground and front skid? Even though the kit drops the front, it still looks like you gained in the end. Just curious.

BTW, how's the ride quality?
