FJ Cruiser side sun visors for 5th Gen 4Runner

Ok, now we are getting somewhere!
Did you have to add anything other than the jacknut (like a washer somewhere) and do they provide enough contact on the backside to make this a viable mod in you honest opinion?

I used the 10-24 jacknuts, and I did add a washer just to make sure that the nut does not fall inside. 1/4 jacknuts wouldn't need the washers but I'm not sure if they fit in the hole. When installed, the nut is very strong. My impression is if I tried to hang with all my weight on the handle, it would be the handle that gave first, not the nuts.
I would try the FJ handles to see whether they fit well if I had one.
Also if I decided to revert to stock handles, it would prove to be a bit challenging to remove the nuts.

I did this.... I think the visor could also be installed with my mod if there is no sunroof.
. : EDIT : . If one has a sunroof, the visor will be a no-go because the way the headliner is shaped for the sunroof and it will position the visor too far into the sunroof.

Anybody ever actually mount the FJ Grab Handle Side Visors?

I see this thread is a bit old. Did anybody actually ever mount the FJ Grab Handle Side Visors? I know there are several threads where rivnuts were used to mount the FJ Grab Handles, just wondering if anybody did the Side Visors as well?

I don't think anyone has successfully installed the FJ Side visors to date.
I looked at mine and decided it would definitely be a no-go with my moon/sun roof.

BTW, my mod, http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-g...-install-2014-toyota-4runner.html#post2406351 is working like factory installed FJ Handles. Have not had any issues. Still strong and tight!

That is the subject, we were referring to installing FJ Handles/Side Visors on a 5th gen.

No, I am not remotely talking about "Do you mean the 4th gen handle in the 5th gen".....
I am talking about installing FJ side handles on a 5th Gen T4R, in place of current side handles.

You stated it can be done using jack nuts.....
Have you done this on a 5th Gen T4R and if so, can you show us the photos of using them and installing FJ Cruiser Side Handles?

Reviving an old thread here...

I am looking to use the FJ handles with these visors in the second row. I have young kids and I can see this being very useful for them. Is it the same application/modification as the front grip handles?

FYI - looks like this was a success on the Tacoma.
