FJ Mirror Mod

So the idea was tossed around before of swapping FJ mirrors onto a 4Runner. I don't think anybody successfully did it and for good reason. I think they'd be huge. But what about just putting a small fog light in the mirrors? Is there A) room to do that. B) A light small enough to even put there. Here's a little shop of what it could look like.

I doubt there would be much room with the power mirror guts in there. Maybe you could get away with some fancy led setup since they're generally shallower, but even then it would be tough. Cool idea though for sure.

The LEDs I have in my rear bumper are an inch thick. That was about the thinnest I could find that would be worth anything. You could maybe stick some in there with really good adhesive...

There's tons of led "accent" lights out there that are pretty small, but thats only you're going for a marker light type effect, still some are pretty darn bright.

THERE HAS TO BE A WAY!!! i have thought and thought on it....my 2c...some type of 1" round light w/ if possible 4 leds, then drill hole with a 1" circle cut out and kinda recess the light in the hole use bondo or something to hold the lights into place...i am to big of a chicken **** to try this on my mirrors lol so i think this is a mod for bandit runner, bigfishallday, COB, blcktpgsr or ripcord to try...NOT meaning to call you guys OUT LOL...just think u have some pretty creative ideals on ur Runners

look at the FJ mirrors, where the light is, it actually protrudes out and is molded into the housing. there is no room in the mirror housing, go out and take your mirror apart and tell me how much room is in their, then tell me how you are going to run the wires into the mirror to give the light power...

there simply isnt the room. sure you could remold the mirror but all that work for what? idk i personally think the FJ mirrors look dumb with that little parking light in them but thats just me

I have to agree with the kid. The only lights that would actually be worth anything wouldn't fit by any stretch of the imagination. Only thing I found was recessed led ceiling lights and it's only 25 lumens.

Personally I think that the mirrors are the ugliest thing on a FJC.

Because they're pretty cool in my opinion. It's unique. If your driving down the highway and you see a truck with lights on the mirrors, you know it's an fj
