FJ Shocks

I have read tons about swapping in FJ Springs, but next to nothing about about using stock FJ shocks.

I scored a set of FJ springs from a guy on FJ Forums and when UPS delivered the box it had all four shocks inside too. Any reason not to (or to) use the FJ shocks? They're the Tokico ones, not Bilsteins or TRD, I just figure I might as use 'em if they're better than my stock set. My 4Runner has 15K miles on it and this FJ set is supposed to have 4K miles on them- they look pretty fresh. I'll be pairing the springs with Spidertrax and either a 1" leveling spacer or something like the CF 2/1 or DS 2.5/1.5.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

A lot of guys also use the shocks. I'm considering that setup when my XREAS goes out. I see you have a SR5, so I think it's be worth swapping them out. Soudns like you scored a good deal!

I pulled my Xreas out and replaced with complete FJ set up with a 1" CF spacer in front . I'm very happy with it .

I to got the front struts, rear shocks and springs off the FJ forum. Got it installed today. The shocks are the Totiko or however you spell it. So far........I haven't measured yet, will do so tomorrow, but about 3/4 of an inch in the rear and maybe about 1/2 an inch in the front. Wish I would have put a 1" spacer in the front. I had my XREAS removed and tossed it. I had two shocks leaking.

@ harold. I'm right there with you. How did everything match up as far as putting the bigger springs on and then the FJ shocks? I am going to do the rear axle on mine in the morning. Did you torque all the nuts down or just guess?

Thanks
