FJ Summit 2012 -- DC to Ouray!

Got a chance to touch base with Jonessyyy on the mobile...you guys have a ball, be safe, and know the rest of us will be waiting "i m p a t i e n t l y " for trip reports and pics...good luck!
 
So, it was a good 16 hours of driving today, but we made great progress. Myself and Joneseyyy actually ended-up a couple of hundred miles further west than we originally planned. We're holed-up in Columbia, MO (which seems to be a great town, btw) for the night, then heading to Canadian, TX tomorrow to stay on the ranch of a friend of mine. 4ShoreRunner broke from us after lunch, and he's currently in Sprinfield, IL visiting some friends. 4ShoreRunner has a co-pilot, so they're going to burn heavy tomorrow to catch-up with myself and Joneseyyy.

We'll stay the night in Canadian, TX tomorrow night then leave in the morning to coalesce with the Amarillo convoy (Reata and friends) along the way, or meet them directly in Walsenburg, CO to begin our overland trip into Ouray.

We had an awesome lunch with Okki, and he'll be joining us again in a couple of days back in Colorado.

Yes, this is true, I complimented LimaMike on his cool Sylvania bulbs. "hey dude, those look great, how do you like them?, I heard they sometimes blow out after a short period of use"

I then used my sweet telekinetic skills to blow one of them out.

We didn't really get to talk about it, but just FYI, I blew through a Silverstar just about every 6 months when I ran them n my CRV. Great light.. crappy lifespan.

Anybody familiar with Springfield IL knows why we had to stop. The horseshoe sandwich.
Texas toast.
Hamburger patty.
Fries.
Cheese sauce.

If I don't make it to walsenburg on time its because I'm still on the toilet.

Joneseyyy I think I saw you on north 465 headed west! I drive a black runner with black xd addicts. I waved thinking surely whoever was driving your rig was on this forum. Then I read this thrread. I want to make the journey out to the summit next year!
 
Will 4ShoreRunner make the west side of KC tonight or stop east of KC and brave Monday morning rush hour traffic?
Will our intrepid duo wait for 4ShoreRunner to catch up or continue to trail blaze a day ahead.

Final prep is done... Just need to shut down and pack the laptop this message is being typed from and then I'm ready to roll out towards Ouray first thing in the morning.

As some of you know I won't be there until next Sunday, but I just got back from a two week back packing trek in northern New Mexico last night. I'm pretty sure I saw Reata in Clarendon, TX yesterday afternoon, as well as several FJ's, all heading NW toward the promised land.
