Flashing Check Engine

A few weeks ago I was cruising down the highway with 4 people in my rig going about 80moh. I looked down and saw my Check Engine light flashing. It went solid and turned off about a minute later. Today I was passing someone who could not figure out the speed limit. I had it to the floor and saw a flashing Check Engine light again. This time it did not go solid and agan turned off while driving. Both times I did not feel any difference in the way they truck was running. I thought a flashing CEL was for mis-fires. It has some newer SplitFire plugs in it that I am going to be changing out for some NGK Iridiums.

Any Ideas?

CEL

I had the same problem. Mine would come on when running 80 mph on cruise control. I reset the ECU myself and tried 80 mph again, and sure enough CEL flashed again. Yes, it does mean misfire, but doesn't mean anything major all the time. My coilpacks were tested to be good.

What was diagnosed on mine was new plugs and OEM wires. It solve the problem. Flashing CEL no longer happens.

Well after much research I am going to go with OEM dual electrode NGK's. They seem to be the best choice. The Iridiums seems to just last longer. I keep up with my maintenence so the regular ones should be fine.
