Flashing VSC and the gas cap

My VSC light is flashing and the check engine light and traction control light are both solid. Although I did not run a code check, I am 90% sure they problem is my janky gas csp. so I just bought an OEM gas cap and put it on. The lights remain. If that was in fact the problem, should I expect the lights to stop right away? Or might it take a few days?

If you have an advanced or autozone nearby, go borrow a code scanner and clear the codes. If it comes back on it's another issues. I had the same thing on my 08 and it reoccurred every 200 miles and after I replaced the cap I've driven 5000 miles no issue.

I have a v6, but my gas cap wasn't tightened at the pump. Had a CEL come up, and tightened the gas cap. The light went away after 30minutes of driving.

Thanks. Just got it reset at the car shop at my nearest military base. Interestingly, it popped 5 codes -- an ECM malfunction, and 4 versions of the evap code (same code for each but listed as 2 history, 1 current, and 1 pending). New gas cap (had to be replaced anyway) and codes now reset and so far seems to be staying off. Concerned about the ECM malfunction though...Wouldnt think that and the gas cap are related so just hoping I don't have a deeper problem with the vacuum lines, charcoal canister, etc.
