Flipping tires inside out

Hello, I have a set of KO2 all terrain tires with the white lettering out. I noticed how they get dirty quick when I go off-road. So I was wondering if I have 10k miles on them if it would be fine to flip them so the white lettering is inside. Thanks

Perfectly fine to do so. Would obviously require them to be rebalanced after remounting with white letters in, but that would be included in the price of mount and balance 4 tires.

White letters are too cute for me. Since they are seasoned at particular forward rotation direction, best to keep that in mind when flipping them on the wheel. So basically swap swap drivers side with passenger side.

That’s good to know, I thought if you get to a certain mileage it’ll be too late to flip it.

I disagree with that. The most recommended tire rotation pattern is a modified x. For a RWD/4WD that would be the rear tires to the front on the same side and the front tires going to the rear but on opposite sides.

I think the best case scenario for tire rotation would be to flip the tires on the rims and rotate sides of vehicle. That way inside was out and rotation direction changed.

But of course pulling 4 tires off the rims every rotation would be silly.

Ok, maybe you got that recommendation cause they want to sell more tires. Well just to let you know I just got over 100K on a set of Toyos on my 3rd gen, doing what I do. Thats also not the 1st set I had cross over 100K either.

Congratulations on that. I on the other hand have had tires last much longer with regular modified x rotations. I'm glad you found something that works, but I guess we'll never know which is better because I'm not going to rotate my tires your way, and I doubt you will rotate your tires my way. I think we can agree that rotating your tires with either method is better than not rotating your tires at all. It's very obvious by tire wear which customers never rotate their tires.

40 years ago you weren't supposed to change the rotation of radial tires. It's not 40 years ago anymore and things change.

Yeah whatever works is good, everyone is different. All different factors, tires, driving type, vehicle type, roads, climate.
