Flood Lights stuck on!

By the looks of many threads on this forum, some of you savvy when it comes to electrical matters. Your insight would much appreciates. I have to flood lights in my carport in front of the garage that are equipped with movement sensors. They only illuminate when something moves in front of them. However as of 3 days now they are stuck on. I turned the sensor button off then on again, and unscrewed the light bulbs then screwed them back in and I turned the power switch board for their section of the house off then back on again all to try and "reset" the sensor function all with no avail.

Is there a wall switch for these lights ?
If so, turning it off for at least 30 sec then back on will cause the lights to go on for their programmed 'on' time then the lights shut off and resume normal monitoring for movement.

A quick off/on cycle of the wall switch puts them in permanent manual 'on' mode, maybe that's what happened.

Thanks there is no wall switch however. What if I throw off the switchboard to that section of the house for 20-30 minutes, would that do the same thing?

You learn something new every day! This happens to me now and then but never knew that is why, and I do the fast cycle at night. Will keep this in mind for the future, thanks!

Well I shut down the power to that portion of the home for 45 minutes with hopes of resetting the movement sensor to no avail. The lights went back on and stay on. Perhaps the the sensor has failed and is stuck on the "on" position and I have to replace the whole thing...?

when my porch light photo sensor lens gets dusty/dirty the light stays on. may be different mechanism than the motion sensor, but worth a try?
