Flowmaster Exhaust?

Has anyone put a flowmaster onto their 4runner? Used to have one on a Jeep that sounded pretty good, wondering how it sounds on the Toyota?

Im curious about this too since there is nothing wrong with the factory exhause especailly after removeing two of the cats to install my URD Y-pipe but the rest of the exhaust doesn't seem like it would benefit at all to buying an expensive Borla system when I could just weld a different muffler for the sound

I bought a 5th gen sr5 with a flowmaster already installed; sounds "diesel-ish"; louder in the cabin; maybe a tad more HP? When in for service, Toyota tec said it was loud in the cabin but "sounded cool!" ... Id describe it as a pleasant deeper throatier exhaust note; I like starting it; those that know & understand look.

there's a number of YouTube vids; but there quieter than what I have; so maybe more mods were done; cats removed? Muff gutted? I-dona-know.

at mid speed there's can be a fair amount of "reverberation" that can be a little annoying.

Old guy coming from the age of V8 engines with a good rumble.

IMO - A 6 cylinder sounds like crap to me, the only thing worse is a diesel with noisy exhaust.

Get a big block Chevy or Ford to get the proper sound of power.
I miss my jet boat with a 455 Olds. The dry stacks sound even better than the water spray exhaust.

Honestly - as someone who loves all kinds of cars...wranglers sound horrible. One of the worst, especially with aftermarket shit on it

I had it on 93 Cherokee with a 4.0 inline 6. It didn't sound bad, the tone was lower than I thought it would be. For the Jeep it was less about sound and more about trying to get a bit more power out of it with a K&N for wheeling. Also had one years ago on a Durango with a V8, and that sounded good.

What did the cat removal do for you as far as sound / power / gas efficiency?

doesnt seem to change the sound at all, not sure of the mileage. I mainly did it in prep for the cold air intake which I havnt done yet. And use the URD mass air flow programmer later will take advantage of opening all that up.

The inside of the stock Y-pipe is actually a second smaller pipe crushed halfway to clear under the chassis so its a big restriction.Other than that the rest of the exhaust is not restrictive at all in my opinion
