i could be wrong, but i think the fogs are controlled by the headlight switch. they turn on with the low beams and off when you flip to high beams or turn off the headlights

I just wanted to add my story abt the OE accessory fogs.
Both my 99 and 02 4R's were equipped with the factory approved accessory fogs - really repackaged Hella Micro DE's. They were mounted in the normal spot... recessed on the outboard side of each directional. I found that the design of the rubber boot in back of the lamp body was poorly thought out and allowed water to get inside... and I dont mean just breathing. I constantly had condensation inside the lenses. I burned thru many bulbs and eventually complained to my local service mgr after the entire innards rotted away on my 02. He found a TSB (service bullentin) on this exact problem and offered to replace them at no charge. There are no markings on the new approved replacements, but I suspect they are made by PIAA and not Hella. The new fogs have been virtually troublefree ever since (almost 4 yrs now).

turning on fogs.
To turn on fogs, look at the lights stalk.
On the stalk itself, there should be a collar with a light symbol. Turn it forward.
I drive with my fogs + headlights on all the time.
You can leave the fogs in the "on" position regardless of your headlights being on or off.
You can also leave your headlights turned on, turn off the truck and when you open the drivers door, the lights go off.
Did you get a owners manual? It's in there. If you don't have one, get one.
