Fog Lights

Hi this is my first post. i have a 96' 4Runner and my father bought the fog lights as a package when he bought the car. Since then the fog lights kept going out until he finally gave up, i was wondering if any one knew the comon problem with them or had a wiring diagram of the fog light circuit or could point me in the right direction. I am a student at uti so i am familiar with basic electrical system.

I doubt it, he has a 96, the fogs are different on the 99-02 models.

Yup, he's right, the electrical diagram is different. I have a 2000 Limited and it is different. But then again, mine came with FACTORY fog lights not DEALER installed.

Yeah there aftermarket installed by a dealer, and the symptom is that the bulb would be replaced and within like 3 months the lights would go bad.

I am in the same boat, my wiring wont let a bulb last longer than a week or two, i even had my wiring harness fixed but was not any help.

yeah what i think it is, is that there fused too high and so the amperage will burn out the bulb. Im going to try installing a resistor before the bulbs and see how that works

wen i had the catz msx fog lights, the fuse rating is 20 amp, if ur bulb is burining out, then the housing is wet or somthing, ortherwise, sawp it out, and get a new fog light, catz msx cl-119 fog on ebay goes for 80 bucks, its yellow and wide, i paid about 200 wen it came out.
