Mr FamilyMopar here's the people I talked to:Red MCCombs Toyota I talked to Shane Mitchell (210)573-5777 (cell) he's the sales guy that I've been dealing with for the 17 TRD PRO and he does all the lifts and rims for the 4runners.At Cavender I'm dealing with Robert Barnes (210)787-7096( cell#) he's the one I cut a check to for the ordering of mt 17 in cement for me. Thanks man. Wish I had seen this earlier. I've been dealing with whoever was unlucky enough to answer the phone at Cavender. A fella named Burt. Seems like an alright guy and I think we are on the verge of making a deal. Looks like I'll be taking the day off tomorrow and visiting SA!

what kind of pricing are you guys getting at Cavender? Debating getting one of the 16 TEPs or waiting to order a 17 with the exact options I want and don't want.

Well I spent most the evening last night negotiating on the mag grey 16 TEP at Cavender. Got to the point where I was good with the deal and told him I'd take today off and drive on out there. I had just left my house at about 10 a.m. and the guy texts me and says someone is looking at the truck. I texted him back and asked if I could put down a deposit over the phone or anything to hold it. I was literally on the road to go get it. But he said no. So I said ok I'm gonna stop let me know if he takes it or not. Don't want to drive all the way there and miss it. At about noon I texted him again and asked what was going on, he said it was now in finance. So I missed it. I'd like to say I am not furiously disappointed about it. But I am.

Sorry to hear that. I know the feeling but am glad to be getting a 17 with what i want for just a few hundred more. Well assuming they don't go up more than ~1% or so as they have historically.

I would gladly take a 17. Hell the "discount" on a 16 for being this late in the year is nil. Problem is that no one can even tell me when we can get a 17 and we are trying to make this happen quickly, to no avail I must admit.

Call Shane @ Red MCCombs and ask him what they have in stock there see what he tells you.Like I said for my 17 I cut them a check for them to order it.good luck, this past Monday when I went to Cavender we drove the back lot and I saw at least 10 4runners back there so I know they have them

I will call him but I think I have already contacted Red McCombs. There are plenty of 4Runners everywhere. Plenty of Trails, Trail Premiums, everything. But this has to be a mag grey TEP which is proving to be pretty elusive. I will give a call though. Thanks for the tip.

Family mopar, I just came back from a trip to my local Costco and I was passing by Red MCCombs Toyota so I drove the dealership lot and I can tell you they have a red 2016 trail brand new for sale on the lot.Just thought you'd like to know good luck again

Thanks bud. I really appreciate you looking out for me. Around here I can get a TEP in blue, red, white, silver, or black. I can get a TE in any of those colors and also mag grey. Unfortunately what I really need to find is a mag grey TEP. This one is for the wife and she is dead set. I've tried talking her in to other colors but it's a no go, unfortunately. I think she may just want me to work for it.

My old man used to say that anytime you miss something it is almost sure to be that a better something comes along. I have always believed that to be the case as well. The wife not so much. But some better deal will come along I am certain.

I did call Red McCombs on your recommendation earlier but no luck. Thanks again for looking out man. That's a pretty stand up thing to do in my book.

It's a long way from you, but Hartford Toyota in CT has the MGM TEP on the lot. They're asking $38.5 for it. Still had plastic on the seats when i looked at it (they had 5 TEP's, 1 MGM, 4 silver). This one did not have KDSS, but had everything else they normally come with.

Thanks man. I spoke with them today. They do not have it any longer. They have the one silver one and that is it. A mag grey with KDSS wuld have been quite a find. Thanks for looking out.

Don't know how he got that info or how much stock I should put in it, but yeah, just wanted to throw that info out. At this point, I've been waiting for a while for this vehicle so a little more waiting won't kill me.

I'm with you in the respect that I was told mine was being built on the 14th, leaving Japan on the 24th, and scheduled to arrive the US on Jan 21st. I'm not sure how much weight I can put on this but I was told it's a sure thing I'm getting one. The wait continues...

I'm still waiting for an update from my dealership with my order. First they told me middle of November, then middle of December, and now they're saying they're 90% sure I'll get a VIN this month. I've been waiting for 6 months... how does Toyota decide which order goes into production/delivery first?
