For anyone waiting on a 17

I'm still waiting for an update from my dealership with my order. First they told me middle of November, then middle of December, and now they're saying they're 90% sure I'll get a VIN this month. I've been waiting for 6 months... how does Toyota decide which order goes into production/delivery first?

I don't know. But I can tell you that my dealer supposedly put in for a 16 TEP and it is supposedly still in Japan and not even on a boat yet. If they are shipping 17's before my 16 lands that would be strange. Then again, I would not bet anything on what any dealer is telling me.

At least for GST there are going to be 2016s still hitting the ground in January.

As an example a 2017 TRD PRO with sliding cargo deck has an msrp of $43,745

Allocation means that they have a spot in the production line and that spot is also for a specific submodel. Before it's built, an inventory manager can make requests to change let's say a SR5 to a Limited or to a TRD Pro and to also add packages/options. From what I understand, you're allocated vehicles based on previous years sales.

17 TRD off-road premium vs Lexus RC 350

I'm in the hunt for a new vehicle next year. I really love 4runners. I've driven a 2001 3rd gen sport edition for a few years and a 2000 tundra for several years before that. I'm looking for something with new technologies and goodies. Vehicles I've driven are outdated in terms of technology. I'm torn between the new 4runner and a Lexus RC 350. Two very different vehicles. I don't mind the drivability of either vehicles. What's your guy's opinion on a 4runner?

I have a '17 TRD Pro in Cement on order, and my salesman (who I believe has kept me very informed along the way) told me the car was scheduled to be built 12/13. I just reached out to him to see if there was a VIN Number...is someone able to help me look it up and see what the status is, once I get ahold of a VIN?

Do you mean St. Charles Toyota of Illinois? I did a search for St. Charles Toyota in Indiana and am not seeing this dealer.
