My guess is it's not an omission due to sloppiness, but something related to driver crash safety, or regulations about ability of a driver to get in and out or have X amount of space around their head.

Probably some stupid rule that only applies to the driver, so they don't need to worry about the same regulation on passenger side.

Just my guess, tho.

Hi. A sunroof on any vehicle eliminates roughly an inch or inch and a half of headroom. For taller drivers this is significant. I am not extremely tall (six feet) but sunroof on two Celicas that I owned was almost a dealbreaker. You do NOT want the top of your head to be close to brushing the headliner all the time. This is one reason I am shopping a 4Runner TRD Pro instead of a lower trim, even though I'm not an off-roader.

Considering there is absolutely zero other areas of 'Carbon Fiber Look' material in the rest of the cabin, the center console lower trim looks massively out of place.

After coming from a Forester, most any moon/sunroof is going to be a disappointment. A tiny little moonroof and some vinyl seats just didn't seem like it was worth the additional $2000.

Agreed! Wife has one and pretty much makes the vehicle feel like a convertible.

I'm 6'5" -- can't have a sunroof, period. This is why I went with a TE and not a TEP.

Ordered my 2017 Offroad Premium last week. Got $4k off MSRP here in Alberta. Traded my 2016 TE with 38,000kms on it and got $42k for it.
Revtek 432 3'' lift for $1500 installed
Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285 70R17s for $1550 installed.

Should be an decent looking ride.

Due to arrive mid to end of January.

Yes I am sure I will be happy with it and I am fortunate to be able to afford one.

I have been living a super frugal lifestyle and super saving to retire early so this 45K purchase is a personal struggle. Kind of dumb I know.

In some ways the TRD Pro seems like a a decent value(even at MSRP) if the legend of resale value and Toyota quality holds true. :thumb:

This will be my first Toyota vehicle. I currently have a 12 year old Outback XT and the thing runs great but its starting to feel old.

A 2017 TRD OFF ROAD Premium with KDSS and no sunroof does exist. It's an $850 option now when equipped.
