Hey everyone, my 1998 Toyota 4Runner is for sale, i never thought this day would ever come but sometimes you gotta let go of the things you love most. I need the money to buy a smaller car, something that is better on gas mileage. I live in Florida now so a truck with 4WD isn't really necessary right now.

General Info:
- 1998 Toyota 4Runner
- 214,000 Miles (Don't be alarmed, this truck still drives very well, it's amazing how long these vehicles last when taken care of properly)
- RARE 5 speed manual transmission
- 2WD, 4Hi, 4Low options
- Second owner
- Very well taken care of (she's my baby)
- Paint looks amazing (never repainted), just had it waxed
- Hooked up for PIAA lights
- Always scheduled maintenance
- Cherry Bomb Pro muffler
- Brand new rear shocks, new spark plugs, just had a full tune up, and new brake pads/calipers, new bearings on rear, new bushings on front,
- Rust level underneath is minimal for a 12 year old truck (spent 7 years up North)
- Aftermarket hood scoop / side vents
- Vinyl and carpet in the back seat and trunk painted black, looks very nice!
- Aftermarket Pioneer head unit, everything is hooked up and ready for an amplifier in the trunk
- New Pioneer door speakers

Not interested but you've got some contradicting things on your ad:
-You say it's 2wd and then there's a 4x4 sticker on the side of it. So which is it? If it's truly a 2wd and you have this sticker, I'm disappointed... Makes you look like a wannabe so I'd clarify that up for everyone on here who is interested. Otherwise, looks like a solid 4runner and good luck with sale

You can see in the pics that it is a 4x4. I think they list it that way so that people will not think it is an awd vehicle.

That's just an aftermarket sticker i bought at pep boys, thought it looked cool. The truck has 2WD and can engage in 4Hi and 4Low. Thanks for the advice, sorry if i confused anyone here. I appreciate it!

Not sure what similar 4Runners are going for, but if you want to get what it's worth... it usually takes a lot of patience and waiting until you find the right buyer who is willing to pay what it is worth. If you expect to sell a car immediately, you gotta let it go for a great deal.

Perhaps you're right. I guess i have to be somewhat realistic, but still, it drives like a dream!

No offense, but I would remove the stickers and the faux fender Escalade vents. I assume the hoodscoop is bolted on, if by chance it is not I would remove that too. It makes it look kinda cheesy and is on no way a selling point.

Price seems okay so I would stick with it for a while.

+1 to all of that. Not to mention the stuff on the inside. Beads, Cherry Bomb sticker etc.

I agree with the others. You will have a better chance selling it by removing the stick-on hood scoop, fender vents, and 4x4/cherry bomb stickers on the back. Make it look stock and pictures of the interior look best when none of your stuff is in it...charger, aux stereo cord, radar detector, steering wheel cover, cherry bomb sticker, beads, air freshener. Simple and clean. Right know it screams teenager which is a really bad thing (please don't take offense to that, just giving you an honest opinion to try and help you out).

You want buyers to be able to picture it as their vehicle, not yours.

I do really like that black interior door panel. Did you do that (and how if so)?

As for the black door, i went to pep boys and bought something called Dupli-Color vinyl spray, it works really well, paint never peels and you can paint the carpet as well. I was thinking about doing the whole truck, but just never got around to it.

Yeah as per the description above this truck spent seven years up north (in Toronto where we originally purchased it). Now it's retiring in Florida, haha

Stevie...hang in there on your asking price. Trucks like yours are being advertised for anywhere between 5 and 8k here in the Midwest. I realize your market is different because of the lack of snow (as you are obviously aware) but that doesn't mean there aren't buyers who would travel to FL to buy it and drive it home. Have you listed it on Craigslist or Ebay yet? You need to expand your advertising horizons if not. 99% of folks on this forum already have a 4Runner, that's why you're receiving no action. Good luck and enjoy that warm Florida sun!
