For Those Looking for a LED Light Bar

This would be an awesome test to have, to get a few of these light bars, Opt7, KC, Rigid, and Generic and test them all to see which truly is the brightest.

Rigid has been ripping people off for years,... and now its coming back to bite them because they had china make the light bars and if there is anything the chinese are good at its copying things. Anyone who has been to Hong Kong knows this first hand.

We work with multiple light companies and they are all made in China. There are different levels of quality for sure. Some of the Ebay bars and pods are complete crap and do not even work straight out of the box. Other Ebay bars and pods are the exact same as the $1000 bars you buy from the big guys. We are not in the LED bar business but there is one manufacturer that we know that supplies the same bar to tons of businesses and they simply change the label. One thing to remember is an LED is an LED. They do have different powers and quality grades but the "patent" on most LEDs has to do with the reflector design. Obviously there is more to it but that my cliff notes version.

Thank you. We really do our best. We are relocating outside of San Antonio, Texas this month and will be expanding our product lines. I am selling my mom van for a new 4Runner so we will be getting all the bells and whistles designed on it. I was told the mini van wasn't made for country living....I think it was just my husband's excuse for me to get a cooler car. Haha.

My Opt7 C2 42" a$$hole light, er, LED light bar arrived today. Ordered Air On Board switch. Probably still another 4 weeks before Gobi Stealth rack arrives but I'm going to test the light this weekend.

I actually just grabbed some flat steel and bent it in a vice to the measurements that made it the right hight. It mounts to the upper radiator/bumper support bar.

On a side note I didn't even click the link until just now and saw how cheap they are going for!!! I paid $200 for the 32" so this is an awesome deal.

You think you could snap a picture or two of the brackets? Did you use existing holes or drill new ones? Did you have to trim any of the plastic air dam material?

I was messing around with mounting ideas today, and this seems to be the best option for a bar this size, unless I make some serious bracket/mounting setup.

Well you guys talked me into it. I ordered a 42" and it should be here Monday.

Going onto the front of a Camelback rack, with AOB switch that I've had stashed away.

I need to buy some additional parts to put together a power distribution/fuse/relay box for under-hood and maybe pick up a couple of shorty 8"ers for the rear of the rack.

I was messing around with mounting ideas today, and this seems to be the best option for a bar this size, unless I make some serious bracket/mounting setup.

No trimming of the plastic air dam was needed, it's a tight fit but didn't have to cut. I made the brackets to line up with some existing holes that were not being used by anything. Here is a artistic rendition of what the brackets were like because I didn't take any pictures of them. The OPT7 brackets attach to the bracket I made. I also took a thin piece of metal to mount the bar to a plastic clip that holds the air dam in place (one side is on the bolt that holds the bar to the bracket and the other held down by the plastic clip) to keep it from wiggling forward and backwards. It's in there super solid now.

This is a picture of the bar it is mounted to and how I got the measurements, just taped that cardboard there put the bumper back on and drew lines where I wanted the top of the light bar to be through the venting in the bumper.

Question for everyone here with Gobi rack and LED bars. Are you running 40" bars or 42" bars? I am thinking of putting a 40" curved but there seem to be less options on amazon compared to 42". Would the 42" look "awkward" with the stealth racks?

Yep...As far as I can tell I was one of the originals to put a 32" OPT7 in the grille area.

Had this thing active for about a year now and have had zero issues. I usually use it nightly as I drive down my alley to get to my garage in Houston, and I've had a couple of people say "I saw your headlights coming so I didn't back out yet." Five T4R's live on my alley and they asked where I got the "whitish lights for my headlights." Informed them of the lightbar and they said "that explains why it always seems like it takes forever for you to get down the alley when I see your lights coming!" ....the alley is 400 yards long and I not only live basically at the end, but my neighbor lives at the VERY end. I turn it on immediately as I pull into the alley.

This has survived mudding trips at the river, hunting trips at the ranch, heavy rainstorms (if you've paid attention to the news around Memorial Day then you have heard of the flooding here in HTX), numerous Texas sized insects, and a week long beach trip with salty air/spray/sand.

Well worth the $200 I paid for it back then.

C is better. On the left is the projection flood light and on the right is the projector spot. The purpose of the lens is to magnify the light which creates a brighter output.

I am very happy with mine, for what I paid for them. I made sure to seal them w/ epoxy and no issues so far. I have 4 pods (2 ditch and 2 rear) + light bar in the lower grille
