10 1/2 year old Maltese. He has a lot of bursts of energy and a strong personality but can be very lazy. He also loves to cuddle.

Ol Jameson....best dog ever. He hated the cargo slider and would always slide around, didn't seem like anything we ever did helped much. 250lbs of dog....used to have to put a reflective vest on him camping cause we were always afraid a hunter would mistake his color and gait for a mountain lion at a distance.

There are very many fine looking dogs on this thread. Our golden is five. On the coldest day of the year we train her at least 1/2 hour day. Today, we spent two hours training on water retrieves and another 1/2 hour working on sit/stays etc. She wants to please me, and i do this to please her. We both look forward to our training sessions.

Yesterday, I saw a guy kick his dog into a river because it would not jump off of a dock. He told me he has a dumb dog. The poor dog has a dumb owner. The moron probably with never understand that he is teaching his dog to hate him.

I work from home they go with me everywhere and we live for outdoors in the mountians, the 4-runner offers more than enough room for all of us. Our favourite backcountry camping spot there are 18 grizzlies there and they do not come near when we are there with the pups.

This is Coop (bigger one) & Ollie (smaller one). They are Brussels Griffons...extremely hearty breed for a toy dog. They take on trails and can climb like mountain goats. The chunky bulldog at the bottom is Hendrix. He sleeps all day and walking more than 10 feet leaves him tired and short of breath.

Here's is my 6 yr. old Billy. Sleeps all day and doesn't require much to wear him out though he loves the snow and water. I do keep him in a crate while traveling in the 4R.

For those of you with bigger dogs, do your dogs jump up/down to the truck by themselves or do you use a ramp?

good looking dog! Is he an english bulldog or an olde english bulldogge? Who did you get him from? I am looking for one right now.

We go full kennel in our rig. Pup gets her space, and we can pack everything around it. She's as safe as she can get, and it keeps the car clean after hanging out at the beach or going on a muddy hike!

This is Kaya. She will be 1 year tomorrow and has completely taken over our lives. She is a Black and Red German Shepherd and is one of the most kind, loving dogs we have known. We have worked through her BH (behavioral/obedience) and are considering continuing onto Schutzhund. When traveling Kaya uses a kennel for safety and I don't have any photos of that set up yet.

Nothing special added here. Circulation isn't bad. Normal weather (below 70-80º) just roll down the back window, but when it's AC time it takes 5-10 minutes for the rear air temp to come down with the AC on full in the front. Perfect example was yesterday when it was 95º in the east bay when we left our friend's house, the dog had been running and was panting. When we got in the hot car, we purged the really hot air with all of the windows down for a minute, then rolled 'em up and within 5-10, the dog was slowing down panting, and after about 15 she was breathing normal and taking a nap. It's never been an issue for us, but we have a thermometer on the outside of the kennel for us to keep an eye on it and her just in case.
