1. Is Demello Offroad still carrying the sliders you put on? Mind telling me how much you got them for? I might give them a call if they are still making them.

I'm not sure if Jason still carries them or not as I got mine a while back. I don't think he ever mass produced them as only a couple of us showed interest and purchased them (thanks Dlak). I would give him a call and inquire, if they don't make them anymore he can custom fabricate anything you want. IIRC, I paid $500 out the door including install plus they trimmed my rockers.

2. I am definitely going to copy you wheel/tire combo. Your truck has a great stance (I am putting on an Icon Stage 5 soon). I know your tires are 295/65R18 Duratracs. But could you give me the exact info of your Ultra Gauntlets? (spacing/offset ect.)

Wow! Back when I got my Icons I thought stage 2 was legit. So many of you now are getting stage 5 and 6, that's awesome and you'll love your setup! The Gauntlets are 18x9", -12mm offset (4.5" bs). No rubbing on the UCA, no wheel spacers needed, you will rub the fender liner so hack away, and you will rub the body mount so adjust for more positive caster during alignment.

Demello Offroad - Body Mount Chop

Made the decision to get a BMC done. Even with my castor at 4.0 my tires still rubbed the body mount. I've worked with Demello Offroad before and had another great experience. They chopped a good chunk off and modified part of the OEM rocker that attaches to the rear fender to give me maximum clearance. The quality of work is top notch, and the fit and finish looks OEM to me. Now I have zero rubbing!

I really like that set up S ans S. Im running gauntlets 18s with same offset and 285 65 18 nitto terras E. Wheel stance and tire profile as good as it gets. Looks killer with just enough sidewall when off roading and airing down. Stage 6 on the way. Chopping the mount going to be a pretty big decision. Was told by a reputable shop here in vegas not to touch the mount. Going to research a bit more.

I talked to a few shops here and felt good about making the decision. Ultimately went with Demello because of previous business but more so their intimacy with working on Toyotas. Tons of FJs, Tacos, and 4Runners have gotten this done. It is almost standard for those running 33" or bigger tires.

plasti-dip rack

Really like your build!

Considering dipping my rack (I just completed all the rest of the chrome on my '10 Limited) and I'm curious how the plasti-dip on the roof rack is holding up?

were you able to get decent coverage on the underside of the rail?

I removed my SR5 rack, and installed the TE rack this past weekend. (also plasti dipped a bunch of stuff on the 4R).

Anyway, my advice would be to just remove the rack all together to plasti dip it. It's really easy to remove/install with (4) bolts each side. Way easier than trying to tape off/cover everything, and you'll for sure get good coverage underneath.

Thanks! I figured removing it would be the best way. Just a little worried about getting it torqued down correctly again and leak free.

That is a good question.....

I used some silicone under the lil bracket thingy, and then just cranked the bolts down with a ratchet. I have no clue how strong I am.(Aka: ft lbs)

I noticed that the TE side rails are a wee bit taller than on the SR5/LE, and they also have that outward facing adjustable tie down loops. So I guess it's a little bit more versatile?

Plasti-dip on the rack has held up great. I've only applied it once and have used my rack countless times snowboarding and surfing so it's gone through quite a bit of abuse.

It probably would be easier to remove the rails altogether, but I have no plans to switch out my rack. Coverage on the underside of the rails is good, not complete (more than 3/4 coverage), but good enough that only if you really look you can see a bit of chrome on the inner part of the rail.

I made a poll earlier on what tire size to get and coincidentally I find this build. I think I will stick with 295s. I used to live in Corona so I fired off an email to Jason to possibly get some work done. Although I live in the bay I still have my house down there in Corona so I'm glad to hear Demello is just right around the corner. How much did the BMC run and is it absolutely necessary? I will be running the same size wheels. Thanks again for sharing.

Nice! I tried taking a picture after doing a double take, but it came out all blurry lol.

My sister just moved to LA a few weeks ago, so I flew out there for a couple days. Went to Hermosa & Manhattan beach, awesome area!
