Forum response really slow lately ....

[MENTION=5653]admin[/MENTION] almost every morning that I log on you will see several posts that were updated early morning. These posts are done by someone using a partial given name as their screen name and will always be a partial copy of an earlier post. The poster usually has between 25-35 posts and they have some type of image or link in them. I thought you knew about it as these posts are deleted just a bit later. There are no examples this morning that I can find.

That's not all true is it? I have to pay to be a sponsor, and I do not feel (FWIW) that wanting some resolve in the site issue is whining.:behindsofa:

And we do pay for the site by looking at the ads. Really. That's how we pay for TV too, except the cable co has the gall to charge us for the privilege. We are the product, not the other way around. The genius of forums is that the product makes content that attracts more product.

Oh, and this thread is still pretty slow. Just sayin'

I have noticed a lot of increased spam posts in the 3rd gen section... Just little clipets from other people's post getting put up as posts... There should be a way to stop them but Idk how. Thanks for the work and effort your putting in.

Yeah, he probably couldn't get on. I see them, too, and I always report them as spam. He frequently clips pieces of my posts, as I often make them late at night. I doubt those posts could bring the forum to its knees, however. They have been going on for a long time before the recent issues and are in fact less frequent recently.

I don't see respectful complaints as 'whining'. Some level of user feedback is appropriate and presumably useful to those who run this place, and does not deserve the contempt being dished out here.

In any case, thanks to admin for restoring the performance to which we are accustomed, even if temporarily. I, too, appreciate what you do.

Have my doubts that the problem is fixed, but will keep my fingers crossed.

If I didn't know better, I'd say we've been spammed quite heavily, resulting in super slow response. I had to take it down overnight to try to block spammers as much as possible. We'll see if it helped.

It seemed better for awhile but is getting slow again. It might be everyone logging in at once to see what they missed or...

Yeah noticed this in 4th gen. general discussion and 4th gen off topic, just couple of new "members" spammed a convo up up to 8+ pages.

Yes, I knew about that one. I will see if there is some plug-in we can use to stop that.

This is so ironic because they took my post where I was trying to tell you what they are doing and they did it with this post... I couldn't of planned this any better if I had actually tried and put effort into planning it.... Thanks spammer bots!

but yes, those copy paste spammers are annoying. Every single post they make has several hidden links.

It was just implied to me that these threads do not belong here.

I honestly thought it was OK to talk about the site in /General/ and we do it all the time.

I think since we are going to have heavy modding we need a sticky with rules or something.
